We had passed by this particular Caravan site for years and hadn't really thought about staying here. It was only about an hour from our home but due to its idealistic location, it could have been a million miles away.
The town itself is a few minutes (20 to15) walk with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and eateries.
The site itself is spacious with grass areas that have alotted numbers for pitches. There are shared water points at every electric hook-up point so that made life a lot easier.
There is a children's play area so it's good for families to visit as well as dog lovers.
The one thing that lets the site down, slightly is that it's located on the main road into Callander town so during the warm summer days, traffic can be very busy. Also, it's a very popular route for motorcycles, so they can be heard from quite a distance. Not a problem for me, but some may not like.
Overall, a great site and I'm sure I'll be back again.

First time visit but sadly only for 3 nights.
One of the best sites I have visited.
It's an open site so watching the kids is easy. They let you pick your own pitch.
We had pitch near to the play area, which was ideal. Some are a bit sloping and others fairly en-even, so I would advise blocks / wheel ramps.
It rained cats and dogs for half a day but no flooding which is a bonus as we left the awning at home.
Power and water next to pitch so fully serviced.
The site has a small shop but no pub etc...
All in all, a great site.
I will be going back...

This is a lovely site with good childrens play facilities, the sand play area is undercover and great for younger children, the toilet blocks are clean and well kept. The site backs onto a river which is good for fishing and dogs love it too!! There are great woodland walks across from the site, when weather permits it's a good walk into Callander, with good shops, cafe's and take away's. The electric and water/waste hookup is placed between 2 pitches giving you fully serviced pitches. We have enjoyed several weekends at the Gart and look forward to having more this year. Highly recommend it.
