Campsie Glen Holiday Park

Fintry, Stirlingshire

Campsie Glen Holiday Park is set in a beautiful, tranquil location, nestled between the Campsie & Fintry hills, and is one of the most popular parks in Stirlingshire, Central Scotland.

The park has a selection of fully-serviced & hard-standing touring pitches, seasonal touring pitches, and tent pitches for camping, meaning holidaymakers can bring their motorhome, touring caravan or tent along, depending on their preference.

You can pitch your touring caravan for the entire season if you are looking for a central ‘base camp’ from which to explore this striking region, take up one of our mini-seasonals for Spring or Autumn, or even hire a pitch on a monthly basis.

At Campsie Glen, we have a number of hot tub lodges and self-catering caravans for hire and for sale, and we also have a superb range of glamping options available.

If you're looking for a more permanent base there are also residential park homes for sale where you can live all year round.

All pitches are close to the park’s main facilities, including the bar. bistro, games room & swimming pool.

Children in your travelling party can occupy themselves happily for hours in the excellent adventure play area. The newly refurbished games room features a pool table and many other facilities while making a splash in a heated outdoor pool under enclosure is a great way to play and relax.

The park is situated on the banks of the River Endrick, a salmon river that will appeal to anglers. Close to the foot of the Fells, cycle trails and interesting walks abound in the area. The historic town of Stirling is nearby, as is picturesque Trossachs, from which Loch Lomond is only a half hour drive.

An outing to Glengoyne Distillery, Stirling Castle or Wallace Monument is highly recommended.

Just had a fantastic relaxing week at Balgair Castle. Everyone so friendly, especially the staff (bar staff lovely and we were made to feel so at home). We have been on quite a few occasions now and no complaints so far, we have fallen in love with this site and will definitely be back. Site is lovely and very well looked after. Showers and toilets always clean. Great for a family or couples. Last nights entertainment (Saturday 10th August) was Ted Christopher, he was absolutely brilliant and his patter wasn't too bad either lol, one of those nights you just didn't want to go home but all good things must come to an end. We ate at the bistro, food was lovely couldn't fault it and good value for money. Went for a swim with my daughter which we both enjoyed. Finn (our dog) loved avswim in the river but unfortunately for me the midgies seem to like my blood!!! All in all a lovely relaxing break. Just thought I would share this with others, if you haven't been then give it a try! Thanks to Sandra at reception, Dan, James, Gary and Leela at the bar, we had a great time! Made us feel really welcome. See you all again soon!

Lovely location, although anything but peaceful. Barking dogs, kids running around and playing football well after midnight, and cars driving around at all hours. There doesn't seem to be any security guard or night manager to patrol or monitor this. I camped with my family and was very disappointed. Some of the tents around us were camping on what looked like bogland, and others were almost on the roadside. The food in the bistro is very overpriced for families IMHO and the service is abysmal. The pool are is nice, but the kids playpark has lots of pot holes and puddles in it. Sorry, but we won't return here.

We enjoyed a three night break on this site in our tourer. The site itself is lovely and in a stunning location. Our children loved the outdoor pool and play park. Also walks along the river were great.Unfortunately our holiday was spoiled by an evening in the bistro where we tried to have a meal.We were told when we arrived that they were busy and the waitress would take our order in five minutes, twenty minutes later she appologised for our wait but still didnt take the order, after a further twenty minutes we were informed there was no electricity in the kitchen and therefore she could not offer us any food, she was at the time herself eating something as she informed us of this and the other waitress was still serving food to other diners. We felt humiliated and vindicated for whatever reason, as we had our two children with us we did not dispute the incident any further and left.It totally spoilt our night especially having to return to our caravan and prepare a meal at 20.45 with two very upset kids.We felt on hindsite they had no intensions of ever serving us, the reason for i have no idea.

This is a wonderful place, especially for kids (we didn't have any). We were on the touring site and the toilet/shower block has just been refurbished to a very high standard. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back.

websie looked beautifull and we couldnt wait to get there even though the woman on the phone said the site road need some attention and the swimming pool was out of order but to be honest the whole site needs some attention and some cleaning especially the touring area where cars were getting stuck in mud and overgrown bushes and areas needed strimming. I went for a walk around the site and there were some lovely tidy areas especially around the static caravan areas. The club on the Saturday night was friendly and entertaining but again could have done with a good clean especially the venetian blinds as these were dirty and very sticky.
overall this camp has great potential but needs some TLC but beware the road in is an experience especially when you are towing a caravan. i am not recommending this site at the present time but unfortunatley i have to tick a box below.

Property manager response (23 Feb 2012)

Thank you for posting your review. We are delighted to tell you that the park changed ownership in November 2010 and is now managed by the Wood Family. We have spent the last year renovating the pool, lounge bar and bistro and toilet and shower facilities. We have certainly given the park the TLC that it deserved and will continue to do so. We would be delighted if you would like to re-visit the park to see the improvements we have made. Have a look at our new website www.holiday-parks.co.uk. We hope to see you soon.

Campsie Glen Holiday Park

Thank you to the super friendly staff who took the time to explain how to get places and to chat about the local area. The food was excellent, the outdoor pool was really cool and the evening entertainment was really fun.
It really is out in the middle of nowhere without many pathways (just country roads without pavements til you get up to the main road) if you don't have a car (we were dropped off), but (again thanks to the staffs advice), a taxi to the nearby Castle Hotel or Kippin is only about a fiver. From Kippin, you can get a bus to almost anywhere in the surrounding towns, even out to Stirling.
With it not being close to local shops etc. they could take advantage and have really high prices as I've seen this before, but everything was really reasonably priced, including the bistro, the bar and the small selection of food available to buy in the reception area.
Even though there were lots of children on the campsite, it was really quiet and silent after about 11pm til 10 ish the next morning (not a problem for me as I don't mind noise but I saw someone had complained about it before I came and wanted to say I didn't experience any noise at all).
It's just a really down-to-earth, unpretentious place - not the kind of place to go if you just want to show off your latest caravan and keep up with the joneses (as, again, experienced that elsewhere). I had a great time and will definitely be back. Thanks for having us.

Campsie Glen Holiday Park

A great little getaway with the kids. The facilities are well catered to keep the kids amused with plenty of green space to runaround, great playground area and the swimming pool is the icing on the cake. The food here is amazing and reasonably priced, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Campsie Glen Holiday Park

My friend recommend this caravan site to us and she was not wrong. We wanted to buy a static van for a while but just could not find the right place. She even allowed us to stay in her caravan for a few days to show us how good it was. Well we took the plunge based on her recommendation and based on our experience, right from the beginning from selecting the caravan for us, right up until Tuesday of this week when we stayed in it things have been so smooth. The manager and all the staff have gone well beyond what it said on the tin to make sure everything was spot on for us. They have given us some great advice and delivered an exceptional caravan and a service that is 5 star. I can not recommend this site or the staff any higher. Now we can not wait to enjoy our holidays. As you can see our dog has chilled out and got into the holiday spirit. Thank you Campsie Glen and thanks Eileen the recommendation
