Well!!!
Looking forward to a week down south in Clacton, never been before, and will never go again, the site offers, a newly refurbished toilet block, so a man with a paint brush on site when we arrived I feel doesn't consitute a refurbished toilet block, and if it had been I would have been horified if I had turned up before it was refurbished. It offers flat level serviced pitches, we was assured that the park had invested heavily on the touring site, in my opinion, not enough was spent, on arrival on a very wet Bank Hoilday Monday, I was told to find a dryish pitch, we arried at 3:30pm, after waking up in the morning to find 80% of the site under two foot of water, and a man on a tractor with an electirc submersible pump that was used to drain the site at Easter, who admitted that it would take at least 4 days to clear the water, now you can't stop the rain form falling, but you can provide drainage and level pitches, well at least the water levelled the site when we left at 11:00am on the Tuesday, a very helpfull Manager by the name of Rob (who has now left the company)sympathised with us and offered a refund, No problems then I hear you say, but 5 hours in the car with 2 kids one day then straight back the next, not good, can't find anything wrong the facilities in the club and pool however never got the chance to get there!! but it had to be the worst pitch I have ever had the pleasure of pitching up on, for the same money £22 per night I could and should have gone to our local Haven site in Cleethorpes (big up to Bradley and the guys), so to summerise;
Refurbished Toilet Block - sub-standard, when it wasn't backed up with sewerage!
Flat Level Pitches - Sorry get the contractors to buy a new spirit level
Serviced Pitches - Electric socket on a timber post?
MORE INVESTMENT REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS A TOP RATED TOURING SITE.
And finally big thanks to the Caravan Club and Ferry Meadows for rescuing the week, same amount of rain, no flooding!!!!
