Going for your caravan holidays to Yorkshire? Then you could pitch at Fangfoss Park, in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Set in the lovely Yorkshire countryside, this 4.5-acre campsite is for touring caravans only. There are 75 pitches, some of which are hardstanding, some of which are grassy, all of which have electric hook-ups.
The shower block has free hot water, toilets and vanity cubicles, as well as shaver points in the men's block, hairdryer points in the ladies' block. There's also a separate area for washing up, as well as somewhere to hand wash clothes and ironing facilities, plus there's a washing machine and a dryer. Water points, as well as chemical toilet and kitchen waste disposal areas are at a central location within the park.
It's good to know that Fangfoss Park has a small, on site shop that stocks everyday essentials such as milk, bread and sweets, as well as Calor Gas – if you need anything more, the village of Fangfoss is less than a mile and a half from the campsite. The shop is the only area of the caravan park where you'll find internet coverage.
The campsite also has a children's play area. Dogs are permitted, but must be kept on a lead and owners must clean up after their pets, to ensure the campsite remains clean and presentable. In addition, the park is well lit at night, making it easy to move around safely.
As mentioned earlier, the village of Fangoss is very close to this campsite – you can drive there in a matter of minutes and it will only take you about 25 minutes to walk there. Grab some pub grub at The Carpenters Arms, or maybe pay a visit to the pottery shop or the rocking horse shop and factory.
You can also drive to nearby Stamford Bridge in under 10 minutes, which has a collection of restaurants, pubs and takeaways. There's also the award winning The Balloon Tree, a cafe and farm shop, that sits just outside Stamford Bridge on the A166. Visit the bakery, the deli or pick your own fruit – and there's much more to do, too. Meet the animals or let the kids let off steam in the children's play area.
The historic walled city of York is only a half hour drive from Fangfoss Park and is surely somewhere you have to visit on your caravan holidays in Yorkshire. And Yorkshire Air Museum in Elvington, which is the largest independent air museum in the UK, is just 15 minutes from this campsite by car.
You can also explore the more wild side to this part of the world when pitched at Fangfoss Park. The Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within easy reach and Helmsley, which sits on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park, is under an hour from this campsite.
Fancy venturing a little further afield? Cross to the other side of the A1(M) and begin your adventure to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Pateley Bridge, a small market town within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is worth a trip and is about an hour and 20 minutes from this caravan park by car, and is on the border of the Dales. If you like an active holiday, or you just want to take in some stunning vistas, you will not be disappointed.
Caravan holidays in Yorkshire have been popular for a long time and Fangfoss Park could be the perfect base for your tour of this attractive corner of the UK.

Toilet block dirty, smelly and badly need a lick of paint! The bins were always overflowing with rubbish, attracting flies.
Owner very disrespectful and not at all polite!
