A short drive to the north of the park will take guests to visit Kendal. Kendal is a popular Cumbrian market town that attracts tourists from across the United Kingdom, primarily owing to its quirky limestone architecture and the cultural and commercial heritage of the place. This region of the Dales is well known for its extreme sports activities, with climbing, abseiling, gorge walking, and clay pigeon shooting all on offer. To the south, the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a haven for wildlife and has some amazing golf courses that are open to the public.
