Bardsea Leisure Park

Bardsea Leisure Park is a stunning holiday park found in the heart of Cumbria on the Furness peninsula. The park has 86 hard standing touring pitches, and welcomes tents, motorhomes and caravans onto the site. All of the pitches as Bardsea are fully serviced, benefitting from electric, drainage, and water hook-ups, as well as a TV satellite connection. The park is open all year round for families who would like to head to Bardsea for a break. In addition to the large number of pitches available on-site a number of holiday homes for hire are offered, as well as permanently sited static caravans that you can buy as your whole family's holiday retreat in the Lake District.

There are plenty of facilities available on site for guests to use during their stay, including a laundrette, washing up sinks, Wi-Fi internet, and a service centre. The park also offers many of leisure activities so that your whole family will always have something to do. There is a children’s adventure play park, a dog exercise area, and an on-site pond where guests at Bardsea can enjoy a spot of private fishing at their leisure.

Close to Bardsea Leisure Park, guests will find the popular market town of Ulverston. As well as being a thriving town on market day, Ulverston feels upbeat each day of the week, and has many great places to shop, eat and drink. All of the pubs in the town are family friendly, and many cook amazing local foods at very reasonable prices. Within easy reach of the park there is also a leisure complex, gym, and swimming pool, while golf lovers will find a high class 18-hole course not far away.

Guests will find plenty to do in the local area, which acts as a gateway to the Lake District, and all of the attractions in the region are ideally suited for family fun.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park is considered one of the hidden gems of Cumbria, and is one of the lesser known but better zoos in the United Kingdom. South Lakes is a conservation park providing homes for animals such as tigers and giraffes, and has rehomed species from across the world working in partnership with a number of animal rights groups and charities.

Anyone going on camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in the Lake District simply has to check out Lake Windermere. Some guests just like to enjoy stunning views of the lake by walking or cycling around its perimeter, finding some quirky villages, shops, and pubs in the process. But Windermere is most famous for its lake cruises, which can last from 45 minutes to three hours depending on what guests would like to do. As well as cruising the lake and getting a unique perspective on the surrounding area, most cruises also include lunch and refreshments.

Culture lovers are encouraged to head to the Laurel and Hardy Museum, the Beatrix Potter Gallery, and Beatrix Potter’s house. If you're looking for active holidays with a difference, we recommend that you try Go Ape, the popular chain of theme parks where you can have lots of fun monkeying around in the treetops at numerous locations across the Lake District.
