Visit Lincolnshire and stay in the heart of the county at a small and charming campsite called Havenhouse Farm.
Here you will find a touring and camping field as well as bed and breakfast accommodation in the farmhouse itself, plus a beautiful barn conversion that sleeps up to six people. So however you like to spend your holidays, you should find something to your liking at Havenhouse Farm.
There are 12 pitches on the touring field, some of which are hardstanding. All of these pitches benefit from electric hook-ups and give guests great views across the campsite's fishing lake. The camping field is situated on a separate, well-sheltered orchard area elsewhere on the park. A selected number of the camping pitches have electric hook-ups and if you'd like the use of a hook-up, camping guests are advised to inform the owners when booking.
Both touring and camping guests can take advantage of the range of facilities offered on the site, which include toilet and shower blocks, a washing up area, chemical waste disposal points and clean fresh water points. Touring and camping guests can also book breakfast at the farmhouse.
Speaking of the farmhouse, it has five rooms, all of which are tastefully decorated and furnished, to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
While there is no shop at this site, the reception area sells chocolate, crisps, ice cream and other snacks. However there is a bar on site – Smokey Joe’s – that serves a selection of great drinks including home-made flavoured vodka! There is also an extensive milkshake menu that is always popular with younger guests staying at Havenhouse Farm.
This site is hugely popular with anglers, because it boasts both an on-site fishing lake as well as a large area of frontage onto the River Steeping.
This campsite's proximity to the A52 means it is well connected and easy to get to and from. The market town and ancient town of Wainfleet All Saints is just a five-minute drive from this campsite. Here you'll find a post office and pharmacy, as well as a small supermarket where you can top up your holiday supplies. The town also has a station, great for guests looking to explore further afield while leaving their car at home.
For many people spending their camping and caravan holidays here, a day beside the seaside is an irresistible option and Skegness is only a 10-minute drive from Havenhouse Farm, so there's no excuse. This town and resort is famous for its great beach as well as its range of other tourist attractions, which include Fantasy Island and Butlin’s. Skegness also has some excellent shopping facilities as well as cafés, bars and restaurants. Culture lovers will also find plenty to do in the town, with museums, galleries and theatres here too.
Also by the coast and just 10 minutes from this campsite is Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, a magnet for wildlife lovers and bird watchers. To the north, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is perfect for anyone that doesn’t mind challenging terrain and that wants to enjoy some exceptional views of the region. The Wolds is also Tennyson country, so you can follow in his footsteps.
