Guestbook reviews

My wife and I found ourselves in the Scottish Highlands with a few days to explore before the wedding of a family friend. We found Loch Tay Highland Lodges & Glamping Park via Google search and decided to give their reasonably priced and rustic accommodations a visit during the few days before the wedding. As promised, the site offered clean yet rustic cabins and fantastic views of the surrounding Munro's and Loch Tay. We travelled from America and were unable to pack many of the camping necessities, i.e. sleeping bags and towels, which the front office staff were happy to provide for a small fee. Common areas and shared bathroom spaces were acceptably clean for a space that caters to outdoorsy folk. Most notably, the shower water temperature was super hot and was welcome after a wet/cold hike up nearby Ben Lawes. Potable water was available from spigots across the site.
Our cabin was up the hill, leaving a short walk down to the Loch-side for dinner and drinks at the Boathouse Kitchen and Bar. The dining was great, but requires a reservation on weekend nights as it's one of a few options near Killin that offers true waterfront dining. Staff was friendly and helpful and very apologetic when we were unable to seat us due to prior reservations.
We also enjoyed the 2mi hiking loop owned by the park, accessible directly across the road from the camp entrance. After a long drive from Edinburgh, we were ready to stretch our legs, gain a little altitude, and take in late afternoon Loch views from the short loop. With lots of stops to check out local flora and fauna and to take in the views, we completed the loop in about 1h of slow walking.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at the LTHLGP and will certainly stay again if we ever find ourselves on Loch Tay again.
