Meadowview Park

Battle, East Sussex

Meadowview Park, found close to Hastings in the heart of East Sussex, is a charming, family friendly, dog friendly holiday park that is open from the beginning of March until the end of October every year.

The park welcomes guests with caravans, tents and motorhomes. There are 36 pitches, both hardstanding and grass pitches, all of which have electric hook-ups. Facilities available across the park for guests to use during their stay include showers, basins and toilets, a washing machine, a small laundrette and a chemical disposal point. Water and drainage points are situated on the site, plus there is a well-stocked on-site shop selling groceries and essentials, which also offers gas canister exchanges. There are two supermarkets (Sainsbury's and Tesco) nearby, in case guests need a wider range of goods.

There's a dog walking and exercise area at this campsite – owners must control their dogs and clean up after them. There's also plenty of open space for ball games and other activities.

As the name of this campsite might suggest, Meadowview Park is surrounded by countryside. It is in the heart of the Sussex Weald, which in turn is in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are miles of walking, cycling, and horse riding trails available to help you discover this area. Cycle hire and horse riding centres are found close by. There are also places nearby where you can go fishing. Or maybe you'd like to enjoy a round of golf? Sedlescombe Golf Club and Beauport Park Golf Course are both a short distance from this park by car.

Meadowview Park is in the heart of what is known as '1066 Country' – and many of the nearby locations are historically significant and popular with tourists.

The historic town of Battle is just a 10-minute drive away, known for being the place where the Battle of Hastings actually took place. Today it is a quaint location with quirky shops as well as cafés, pubs and great architecture. The small town of Rye is also found close by, about a half an hour's drive away, and has cobbled streets and timbered houses, as well as shops and pubs.

Fancy a day bedside the seaside on your camping and caravan holidays? Just a 20-minute drive south will take you to Hastings. When you visit Hastings you can go to the beach and the pier, or ride the cable car from the clifftop to the seafront. You might also want to tour the fascinating Hastings Castle or go to the nearby Smugglers Adventure attraction. There is also the Jerwood Gallery, a museum of contemporary British art on The Stade in Hastings, or the kids might enjoy a day out at the Blue Reef Aquarium.

There are also lots of National Trust properties within easy driving distance of Meadowview Park. In half an hour you could be exploring Sissinghurst Castle Garden or Smallhythe Place, and Bodiam Castle is just a 10-minute drive away, while there is also the opportunity to experience a taste of the growing English wine scene at two nearby vineyards.

Stay at Meadowview Park on your motorhome tours, camping and caravan holidays in Sussex and enjoy the local towns, the countryside or the coast.
