Lamb Cottage Caravan Park is an award winning adult only park in the heart of Cheshire. Open from March to October providing a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern day life ! Alan Rogers inspected and selected and members of Tranquil Touring Parks. The park is an open sunny site surrounded by a combination of farmland and sheltering trees, giving it a truly relaxing feel.

The park offers fully serviced touring pitches and a small exclusive development of privately owned static caravans for holiday homes. The park is immaculately kept, with carefully manicured lawns and thoughtfully landscaped grounds.

Cheshire is famous for its open spaces, and you will find a great deal of them when you stay at Lamb Cottage. Whether you want to explore woodland, take the dog for a walk across the miles of farmland footpaths or have a relaxing day fishing , it is all here for you to enjoy.

Chester is a favourite with travellers in the area, a historic city with cobbled streets of old shops, a beautiful cathedral, and the River Dee, which has a number of excellent walking routes as well as the option of a relaxing boat trip. Also, within easy reach is Liverpool and Manchester.

  Wonderful tranquil setting
Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely site, extremely well maintained with helpful staff and immaculate facilities, the shower rooms were a joy to use. We spent a great day exploring the Delamere Forest, another looking around the Anderson Boat lift,. This is a beautiful site in a beautiful location.

We stayed here for 5 nights and would happily have stayed longer had being back at work not been a requirement! The pitches are level and pretty spacious and the facilities were excellent, probably the best we've come across so far. The location of the site is great for exploring Cheshire and there are good walks in the area. We were welcomed warmly and provided with helpful information, nothing was too much trouble.

I stayed at lamb cottage caravan site only one night although it is a lovely site it is a pity I can't say the same thing about the owner Mr Howard. After making a genuine mistake with a booking this man started raising his voice and basically called me a liar and made me feel very uncomfortable he would not accept my apology as I said to him it was a genuine mistake I told him not to speak to me this way he made me feel very intimidated with his behaviour. This man needs to take some lessons on people skills how to communicate with his customers.

Property manager response (07 Nov 2014)

As co-owner of Lamb Cottage Caravan Park, I feel that after such a negative and rather personal comment, I should use my right to reply to present the facts surrounding this review in order for readers to put it in context. Lamb Cottage has been an adult only park for the last 13 years and this is clearly stated on our website, brochures, all publicity material and again on the large sign at the entrance to the park. The gentleman reviewer rang to ask if we had a pitch available for the one night and as normal practice our adult only policy was stated again before taking the booking. The gentleman booked for a motorhome, 2 adults and 2 dogs. A short while later he arrived just on dark and again confirmed at check-in for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The following morning, it was brought to our attention by several other guests that there had been a child staying in the motorhome too. Although very disappointed that this had happened we decided not to approach the gentleman as he was preparing to leave anyway. Unfortunately, by his own admission he had left his lights on overnight and flattened the battery on his hired motorhome. He came to the office to ask for help and this was when he asked about the third person he had omitted to tell us about which he admitted was a child but disputed ever having knowledge of our adult only policy. Despite this, my husband, (Mr Howard) then went out of his way to fetch our own battery and jump leads to start the motorhome, saving the gentleman a lengthy wait and a substantial cost that he had been quoted for breakdown assistance from the motorhome hire company. This is our normal helpful manner which many of our guests are very grateful for. It appears that it was not appreciated in this case as was not worthy of a mention in the review. Hopefully, this has been an isolated case, the only one in 13 years and we will continue to welcome guests to our award winning adult only park and do everything we can to help make their stay an enjoyable one.

stayed here for 5 nights to accommodate a day at the spa in Chester. The site is the best kept we've ever visited and the toilet facilities excellent and very clean. The rules are very strict but this site is part of the tranquil parks scheme.. As a result it was heavenly quiet and we managed the best lie in we've ever had in the van! It does depend what you want from your trip. But definitely thumps up from us!

We spent two weeks on this site. The wardens were not particularly friendly and didn't make us feel particularly welcome. On booking in we were handed a sheet of "Rules and Regulations". We thought the pitches were rather on the small side and we were certainly not allowed to hang wet towels out to dry! Instead we were politely told "there is a tumble dryer". Putting used towels in a tumble dryer apart from not being very environmentally friendly way of drying, does this not spread infection? I don't think we shall repeat the experience.

Lamb Cottage Caravan Park Dalefords Lane Whitegate Nr Northwich Cheshire CW8 2BN Tel: 01606 882302 Email: info@lambcottage.co.uk Web: lambcottage.co.uk “A luxurious caravan park?” queried a friend. “Isn’t that a contradiction in terms? Definitely not. Especially when you’re talking about Lamb Cottage Caravan Park in the Vale Royal district at the heart of the Cheshire countryside Mike and Lynn Howard, the resident owners, have turned this into a tranquil haven for wildlife and caravanners. The multi-award winning 5* park is an Adult only site and is a member of the Tranquil Touring Parks group. It covers 6½ acres and has 25 fully serviced all-weather pitches each with a grassed area to the side. There are also 4 pitches especially for motorhomes, 14 seasonal pitches and an area of privately owned holiday homes. Tents are not accepted. Facilities include a luxury toilet and shower block with en-suite style shower rooms as well as separate toilets and basins, hairdryers/shaver points, a disabled suite, laundry room and an undercover dishwashing/vegetable preparation area. There is an information centre and a library, but no shop. An on-site dog walk is fenced and gated, but as one of our dogs does not like the bark chippings, we tend to go into the Forestry Commission land over the road to exercise them. Local attractions are varied, including the Blakemere craft centre, Delamere Forest, the Whitegate Way walk, Northwich and the Anderton Boat Lift and of course the city of Chester itself. Wales and the Wirral are within a short car journey. The nearest shops and take-aways are within a mile or two. Apart from the obvious – peace and tranquillity teamed with the fantastic facilities, this is our favourite site for our first trip out each year, being just three quarters of an hour from home. We can try everything out without a seemingly endless car journey. And if we do need spares or repairs, the caravan centre at Delamere (once Harringtons, latterly Discover Leisure) is just a stone’s throw away. The site is open from March to October. Prices per pitch per night for 2011 are; £20 - £26 pitch/2 adults/car/VAT £19 - £25 motorhomes £1 each dog (max 2) £5 extra adult £1 extra car

Relaxing Weekend
Second visit to this lovely site. It's adults only so great for a peaceful weekend break. The site has great facilities and is always very clean and very well maintained. The woods across the road is great for walking the dog and he always enjoys his stay. Wardens are friendly and approachable and made us feel very welcome on arrival.

Adults only - Fantastic Park
Fantastic caravan park with great facilities (shower block is like home from home). The park is extremely peaceful and tranquil with highly maintained lawns and hedges, very neat and tidy. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. Added bonus, Chester is only 20 minutes away so you can relax at night and if you wish to venture into the town during the day. Would highly recommend this park!!

Lamb Cottage Caravan Park

Lovely peaceful Site
This was our first visit to Lamb's Cottage but we will certainly return if we are in the area.
The site is immaculate with first class pitches, plenty of room for caravan and awning and a grass area for sitting out . There is a small dog walk but also lovely woodland walk across the road from the entrance. The toilets/shower rooms were spotless and just like a bathroom from home with Shower, wash hand basin and toilet all in one room and hooks and shelves to put your clothes and toiletries on.
There was also free wi fi. The site is very peaceful and quiet as it is adults only but great for a relaxing break. it is also close to the M6 and Chester and lots of walks and country parks.

Lamb Cottage Caravan Park

Caravan Park
This site is one of the best I have stayed on. The amenities and grounds are extremely well kept to a very high standard. Definitely deserves a return visit. Central to a lot of interesting places to visit. Bear in mind this is an adult only site and the touring pitches are all service pitches.

Lamb Cottage Caravan Park

So peaceful
This is our second visit. It is an adult only site and if you want peace you will get it here. The facilities are excellent and in each unit you get a shower, washbasin and toilet. It was really quiet when we were here and the folk on site were friendly.
