Glamping

For camping holidays in North Wales, Abbey Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a small, peaceful award-winning campsite on a working farm with mountain views and stunning scenery.

Awarded Gold by Visit Wales Gwobr Aur in 2022 for exceptional quality and facilities, Abbey Farm was one of only a handful of glamping sites awarded this prestigious accolade in Wales.

Abbey Farm is situated in a picturesque rural setting surrounded by wildlife with the village of Rhuddlan and its cafes, country pubs and shops just a short walk away.

Just 10 minutes from the nearest beaches, the park is located in a spacious field overlooking the Clwydian Mountain range and is part of a Scheduled Ancient Monument, making Abbey Farm a unique place to stay. Abbey Farm has a fascinating history dating back to the 13th century when a Dominican Friary stood on the site in what was a Norman town. Some original carved stones from the friary can still be seen on the walls of the farm buildings. A local myth tells of the ghosts of ancient monks in a tunnel that runs from the farmhouse cellar to the nearby church!

As a working farm, there is always plenty going on and children can meet the animals on the farm and feed chickens. Dogs are very welcome at this campsite.

Abbey Farm is a perfect base from which to explore the natural beauty and attractions of North Wales, including Snowdonia National Park, with miles of signposted walks and cycle paths nearby. The site welcomes tents, tourers, motorhomes and camper vans. In 2022, they now offer a luxury stay in 3 of their stunning glamping pods; all en-suite with shower, kitchenette, underfloor heating and a lovely private patio area to enjoy the views across the mountains with farm animals grazing nearby.

Had a 3 night stay at Abbey farm, gorgeous little spec on a family run working farm. Lovely owners very helpful. Hot and clean shower/toilet facilities. Two gorgeous farm dogs who will become your best friends. 10 minutes walk into Rhuddlan village, 3 pubs a nice Indian restaurant and of course the Castle. Lovely base for exploring the area.

Been here twice and can't wait for them to open in April, lovely relaxing site, love Jess the sheepdog and the chickens roaming freely, the owners are so welcoming. The views are fabulous and just ten minutes into Village of Rhuddlan with cheese shops, cafes, shops and love the Kings head pub. Highly recommend best site I've been on

‘We have been on this site for the last 4 years, great family run site, easy to walk to the village (shops, pubs, takeaways). A lovely quiet site on a working farm which is all the better at night when you’re chilling and watching the animals grazing in the field.’
