South Meadows Caravan Park is open all year, and is one of the most beautiful holiday parks in Northumberland. Situated a short distance outside the picturesque village of Belford, South Meadows is a beautifully landscaped park with miles of woodland on your doorstep for exploring, relaxing, or enjoying a family picnic.
The park offers around 100 touring pitches for families with campervans, motorhomes, and tents, while there is also a luxurious holiday lodge that can be hired should you desire along with 5 glamping pods. The lodge benefits from its own private gardens and is excellent for a romantic break. In addition, if you wish to make Northumberland your usual holiday destination, you have the option to buy one of the luxury holiday homes available on the site. The Glamping Pods offer 2 double beds and 1 single, all with comfortable foam mattresses, sleeping 2 adults and up to 3 small children or 4 adults with a fully fitted kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, 2 hotplates and a sink, electricity points, an electric heater and hot and cold running water. Crockery and cutlery for 5 people, flat screen TV, WIFI available & private outdoor sitting area with furniture.
Storage facilities are also available at South Meadows, so that if you wish to leave your caravan on-site, you can do for a small fee. Boats can also be kept on site, while there is a workshop with mechanics carrying out running repairs and servicing on your caravan, should you need it.
While South Meadows Caravan Park is all about the tranquil surroundings, you are only a few minutes’ walk from the very best local amenities, including a golf course, small farm shop, a supermarket, and a number of local pubs.
The park benefits from excellent transport links and is just a short drive from the A1 trunk route, putting the small towns of Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed within reachable distance, while Edinburgh or Newcastle-upon-Tyne are further away, but well worth the trip.
Northumberland National Park is a must for lovers of the outdoors, while a drive across to Holy Island off the Northumberland coast is also a fun experience, so long as you head back before the tide comes in, or else you will be stranded!
South Meadows gives you an excellent taste of the Northumberland countryside, as well as being within reach of some of the best towns and cities in both England and Scotland.
We have a brand toilet and shower block located on the Willows servicing the super and grass pitches along with the pods. The block provides free power showers, under flood heating, disabled and family room facilities. There is a refurbished shower and toilet block servicing the Heathers and Cherry Drive which also include free power showers, disabled and family room facilities.
We have comprehensive laundry facilities and washing up and food preparation areas.
All of our pitches have electrical hook-up available and we have the requisite chemical disposal facilities.
In addition to our caravan and camping field we are also able to offer a large number of fully serviced hard standing pitches suitable for caravans or motor homes which have electrical hook-up and water connections.
When you arrive at our site our trained staff will happily place your caravan on your reserved pitch, make it level and lower the steadies ready for you to enjoy your stay.
In addition to the above we also have onsite a safe children’s play area and an ancient woodland which has just had an extensive network of paths laid throughout and at the right times of the year provides magnificent displays of snowdrops, bluebells, wild orchids and other wild flowers.
Wifi is provided through out the site, we welcome well behaved dogs and are able to provide gas refills on site and maintain permanent on site staff and security.
North Northumberland has a wealth of attractions and activities for you to enjoy during your stay no matter what the weather may throw at you.
The magnificent castle at Bamburgh dominates the coastline with its glorious beaches but it is only one of six historic castles all within 25 miles.
The area also offers many other attractions including gardens, crafts, museums, spectacular nature trails, walks to suit all and the famous island of Lindisfarne.
There are 6 different castles within a 20 mile radius. The nearby Cheviot Hills are ideal walking grounds and there are 3 different sandy beaches only 15 minutes away. You can also explore the famous Holy Island (or Lindisfarne) and the Farne Islands bird sanctuary.

Fantastic park! We were blessed with great weather, the park is beautifully maintained with emaculate toilet and shower facilities.
The staff in the reception were very friendly and helpful with good local knowledge.
A real plus was having our caravan sited on our pitch for us by a very helpful man who also towed us off at the end of our stay.
The parks location is excellent for exploring the area as you are just off the A1. I was a bit worried that it might be noisy but we couldn't hear the road at all.
We will definitely be visiting again!
