Visit Devon and stay at Kingsmead Centre. Despite being close to the M5, this is a quiet and well-secluded location where guests of all ages can enjoy a relaxing, tranquil break – and it is open all year round.

The park sits in the Blackdown Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site welcomes guests with tents, motorhomes and touring caravans. Kingsmead Centre also has a small number of motorhomes available for hire, along with a woodland yurt.

A handful of hardstanding pitches with electric hook-ups are available, while there are also electric hook-ups available on a number of grass pitches. This is a dog friendly campsite, and owners are reminded to clean up after their canine companions and to keep them under control.

Facilities available to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay at the park include showers, toilets and basins, a washing up area and a laundrette. Wi-Fi is provided, too.

Nearby amenities include a country pub serving great local food and drink, perfect for time away from the kitchen, while a number of farmers' markets are held in the nearby towns and villages on a regular basis.

The site is ideally located for guests that want to get out and explore Devon on their motorhome, camping and caravan holidays. The park has a range of free maps that tourists can use to identify the local trail they wish to discover, with all routes suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Cycle hire is offered on site, while nearby there are numerous locations offering mountain biking and horse riding.

Love fishing? You could take advantage of the two fishing lakes at the site, which are available exclusively for guests to use. The site is also a magnet for wildlife and birds, and is hugely popular with wildlife lovers and bird watchers for this reason.

Want more of the natural world? Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve is within an hour of this holiday park. Or you could explore Lyme Regis – it might be in Dorset, but this cute little town has a lovely harbour and is famous for fossil hunting.

Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club is about a 15-minute drive from Kingsmead Centre, if you'd like to enjoy a round of golf, while Taunton Vale Golf Club is about a half hour drive from this park. Or you could head into Taunton itself, the county town of neighbouring Somerset. Visit Taunton for a meal out or to top up your holiday supplies. Here you can also tour Taunton Castle or the Museum of Somerset.

Another good destination for a day out is Hestercombe Gardens, which is about 30 minutes by car from this holiday park, the spectacular gardens also including lakes and temples.

Perhaps you'd like to visit Exeter? It's about a 45-minute drive from this campsite and is a super destination for retail therapy. Things to do in Exeter include going to see the cathedral and the St Nicholas Priory, enjoying a day at the races or time in the Rougemont Gardens, or heading to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Nearby Powderham Castle is also worth a trip, or you can get active at Go Ape! Haldon.
