Blaithwaite House (formerly called Blaithwaite Christian Centre) in Cumbria is a large family estate and holiday destination. The house, campsite and outdoor activity centre is located between the beautiful Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the iconic Lake District National Park. The touring site is open from the end of April until the end of October, and welcomes guests with motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents. Accommodation is also available in Blaithwaite House, which is the main focal point of the sprawling Blaithwaite Estate.
Tents, motorhomes and touring caravans are welcome at the campsite in the Blaithwaite House estate. The camping facilities include toilets, showers, and a washing up area. There is also a bonfire and barbecue area, while there are water points and chemical waste disposal points found at the site.
Guests staying on the camping and touring site are also able to fully participate in all of the activities and events that take place at Blaithwaite House throughout the year, as well as use the facilities provided in the main building.
Groups are welcome to book the dormitories in the main house and smaller parties can rent the stables, which have been converted into self-catering accommodation.
There is loads to do for couples and families staying at Blaithwaite House. There is the option of simply relaxing in the beautifully landscaped, picturesque grounds. You can go walking right here, since there are several excellent walking routes through the estate. Blaithwaite House is also an activity centre offering a number of fun activities. These include archery, mountain boarding, mountain biking, and survival workshops and trips into the woodland. Paintballing is always a fun experience and the whole family can take part at Blaithwaite House, while those preferring more serene activities can participate in a wide range of arts and crafts events that take place at the site.
Guests that want to try something a little different can check out the dance classes at the on-site barn, always good for some holiday exercise as well as meeting new people and having a laugh.
Elsewhere on the estate, there is a fun mini golf course, while for children who prefer traditional play there is an excellent adventure playground. Guests can also choose to relax with a cup of tea and a snack in the on-site conservatory café, which is open to all.
Away from Blaithwaite House, visit Cumbria's best locations, which are just a short drive away.
