Staden Grange is a peaceful campsite with pitches that are set beneath a small, open copse, making it an idyllic location to stay on your holidays in Derbyshire.

This is a family run business, comprising a 10-room B&B as well as a campsite, plus there is an on-site petting farm, Archie's Farm, which you can enjoy for a small additional fee. All the rooms in the B&B have en suites, a TV and Wi-Fi – the guest accommodation has received a four-star rating from EnjoyEngland.

The campsite at Staden Grange is in a delightful, woodland setting and welcomes touring caravans, campervans and tents. Electric hook-ups are available for an additional fee, plus there is a recently built, heated toilet and shower block, but please be aware that the showers are coin operated, so some change, especially £1 and 20p coins, would be very helpful. Awnings are allowed, for a £3 fee. It is a lovely, rural location where you can really get away from it all.

This is also a dog friendly campsite. There is a small charge for bringing your four-legged friend and please ensure you keep him/her under control and that you clean up after your dogs.

Staden Grange is just to the south east of the spa town of Buxton, and as this campsite sits just a short distance off the A515, it is easy to get to and a handy place to use as a base for your camping and caravan holidays in Derbyshire. Having Buxton nearby means if you need to top up on your camping supplies, you need a supermarket (you'll find a Morrisons and a Waitrose here, amongst others) or you fancy a night off cooking and you're looking for a pub, restaurant or bar, you have all you need nearby. There's even an Opera House and a Museum & Art Gallery in this town.

But you're also nestled right in the heart of the magnificent Peak District National Park, which covers 555 square miles across Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. This is a beautiful area to spend time in and the visitor centres can provide plenty of ideas for days out. Discover the area on two feet, two wheels or on horseback by following one of the many trails that run through the Peak District. Hire a bike if you've not brought your own and maybe even try one of the off-road trials, or join a guided ride – there are different ones suitable for beginners, families and those with disabilities.

Fancy something a little more out the ordinary? How about having a go at fell running, caving, rock climbing, paragliding, canoeing, windsurfing or sailing? All are available within the Peak District National Park are a different, exciting way to see this part of the country.

If you can tear yourself away from the wonderful natural landscape, Macclesfield is only about a 30-minute drive away and Sheffield is about an hour away by car – indeed Manchester is less than a 90-minute drive from site.
