Found close to the Exmoor Heritage Coast in the heart of Exmoor National Park, Doone Valley Campsite is a beautiful holiday retreat that has facilities for up to 10 touring caravans or motorhomes, and 40 tents. On-site facilities include toilets, showers, and chemical waste disposal points. It is a family and pet friendly park, though pets must be kept on their leads at all times.

Group bookings are allowed at Doone Valley Campsite for guests who are travelling with 10 or more people. A separate field is designated so groups can have their own space away from other people, while likewise the other guests continue to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The field is also used throughout the year for rallies.

The park is set within a valley on level ground and is bordered by a stream. The park is well sheltered by the hills and woodland that surround Doone Valley making it a wonderful place for families to head to spend some time.

You are allowed to light campfires at certain points across the site and logs are for sale from the park reception. While there is no bar or restaurant on this campsite a short walk will take guests to the nearest one, called the Buttery, which sits beside the river and is a fully licenced bar and café.

The location of the park means there are many outdoor pursuits than can be enjoyed during your camping and caravan holidays on Exmoor. Most popular is simply heading out and exploring Exmoor at leisure. There are several walking routes and trails that intersect the park and surrounding area. Whether guests head out to the coast, into the dense woodlands, or prefer to explore the valleys and rolling hills of Exmoor is up to them. Guided walks and maps are also available for guests who want to ensure they take in all the best sights around Exmoor.

Getting around Exmoor on a bicycle or a horse is also popular, and offers guests a unique perspective on this beautiful part of the world. For guests who want to be outdoors but also want to remain as relaxed as possible, there are numerous points along the streams of Exmoor as well as along the coastline where you can enjoy fishing and picnics.

Other outdoor activities widely available in the area include golf, tennis, abseiling, and climbing, while there are plenty of fields where ball games can be played with the family or with other guests staying at Doone Valley Campsite and other parks that are close by.

Guests will also find a number of country villages and towns throughout Exmoor as well as in the surrounding area. A short drive takes you to Minehead, the biggest local town and somewhere filled with great shops, as well as bars, restaurants, and cultural attractions including art galleries, theatres, and live music venues.
