Gundrys Farm is a small, family run holiday park in the heart of Dorset, a short distance from the New Forest National Park.
The site is set across eight acres and is flat and well maintained, offering 60 pitches that welcome tents, motorhomes and touring caravans. Seasonal pitches are available, too – the fees also cover the cost of winter storage.
The camping fields at Grundys Farm are well sheltered by the surrounding trees that add to the ambience of the park. There is also a separate rally field, which can be booked independently from a stay at the main park – the rally field is open all year round.
Most of the pitches at this campsite have 10A electric hook-ups, while both of the camping fields have water points and waste disposal points for chemicals and grey water. The park is passionate about conservation and the environment, so recycling is encouraged as much as possible.
Facilities at Gundrys Farm include a shower block, two toilet blocks and a lit, undercover washing up area. Forgotten some camping gear? Don't worry as there's a great camping shop a few minutes from the site at a local garden centre.
This is a dog friendly campsite. Please keep dogs on a lead at all times, keep them under control and be sure to clear up after them. There is also a dedicated dog walking area – and there are miles upon miles of nearby countryside, criss-crossed by walks to explore with your canine companion. In addition, this site is a working farm and children are allowed to help with feeding the lambs.
If you're staying here for your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in Dorset, you'll find plenty to do. As mentioned earlier, you're very close to the New Forest which is beautiful all year round. Maybe pop into Lyndhurst and take a cream tea, visit pretty Beaulieu, its motor museum, abbey and Palace House, spend a day at Bucklers Hard or just enjoy a gentle cycle or drive through the forest, soaking up the special atmosphere of this former royal forest. Much nearer are Holt Heath National Nature Reserve and Moors Valley Country Park and Forest – it will take you less than 10 minutes to drive to either from Gundrys Farm. Moors Valley Railway, a narrow gauge passenger railway, is also very near this campsite, or really get the blood pumping at Go Ape! – this is also within the Moors Valley Country Park and Forest.
Wimborne Minster is about a 20-minute drive away, the market town handy for picking up holiday essentials. Why not visit the Minster itself, or the Model Town and Gardens. You're also less than 30 minutes by car from Bournemouth when pitched at this campsite, so you can enjoy a day at the beach, too. There are also lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes in Bournemouth, or visit the aquarium, called Oceanarium, it is a super day out for the whole family.
Highcliffe Castle is a striking landmark and only about a 30-minute drive from Gundrys Farm – why not visit and take afternoon tea in the majestic, cliff top surroundings.

Stayed at Gundry’s caravan site, on a couple of occasions during the summer of 2010, nice quite site with lots of space for children to play, newly built toilet block, showers with plenty of hot water, owners are excellent, nothing is to much trouble, excellent sense of humour.
Local facilities: close to Bournemouth Christchurch, Pool, Weymouth bit closer is Moors Valley park within walking distance.
Will return next year
