West Middlewick Farm is a family owned and run camping site a short distance south of Exmoor National Park, and within easy driving distance of the popular town of Taunton.

Families and pets are more than welcome to stay at this campsite in Devon, and West Middlewick Farm gives guests a very special and memorable holiday experience, as the site is actually a working farm with cows, sheep and chickens all living there. The farm itself is reasonably self-sufficient with the vast majority of the food eaten by the animals actually grown there, too.

In November 2013, West Middlewick Farm was featured in The Guardian newspaper as one of the top five family friendly places to stay throughout the UK.

West Middlewick Farm has a whole range of options available for holidaymakers looking to stay on site and make this their base for a tour of the south west of England. The site welcomes guests in caravans, motorhomes and tents, plus there are some on site, self catering options, too.

There is a four-acre field available for campers, while an unspoiled area of land on the site is reserved for caravanning enthusiasts and motorcaravanners who wish to enjoy unrivalled views across the surrounding countryside and Exmoor. Alternatively, guests at West Middlewick Farm also have the option of glamping in the two cosy log pods that are available, staying in the on-site bed and breakfast, or checking into one of the three luxurious log cabins; there really is something for everyone.

This is a dog friendly campsite, however guests are not allowed to bring their four-legged friends if they're saying in the B&B or the glamping log pods.

If you're pitching a tent, caravan, motorhome or campervan at West Middlewick Farm, the facilities on offer include electric hook-ups, a laundry area, a toilet and shower block with a disabled toilet and shower room, and an outdoor washing up area. Wi-Fi is available too, although charges apply. And if you want to leave your car or motorhome on site, you'll be pleased to know that this campsite has good public transport links.

Visitors who wish to enjoy the authentic farm experience during a stay at West Middlewick Farm campsite are welcome to do so, with assistance always welcome with feeding the cows, bottle feeding calves and lambs, and collecting eggs from the chickens. You can even collect your eggs, pay for them and take them for breakfast if you wish! The farm is open for exploration so long as you keep pets on a leash and children are supervised.

While there is loads to do on the farm and plenty of open space in the immediate vicinity for you to explore, you also have the beauty of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset at your fingertips, thanks to this campsite's handy, central location. The two National Parks in the area are simply stunning. Coast lovers should head to Exmoor to the north where you’ll find forest and country walks that bring you out to secluded beaches, while those looking to remain on dry land can head south to Dartmoor, a wild and stunningly beautiful area. Both National Parks have a wide range of activities on offer to holidaymakers, including cycling, horse riding and climbing – and, of course, there are miles and miles of footpaths, too.

In terms of attractions, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area to keep the whole family entertained for the duration of your camping or caravan holiday in Devon. Combe Martin’s Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is one of the more popular attractions in the area, along with Exmoor Zoo. Like fishing? There are three places to fish within walking distance of this campsite.
