Ocean edge was a big disappointment, while the van we stayed in was clean and in good repair the same cannot be said of the facilities. The arcade was a nightmare most of the fruit machines took your money then didn't work or give you your prize, there was broken glass outside around the children's play area, loads of unruly kids running around, the pool table had no cue ball and the cues no tips, the pool was closed early and the staff were largely unhelpful. There is no clear access to the beach, which would be nice if it was clean. We were so fed up that we left two days early!

Stoke

After staying at Ocean Edge a few times over the last few years and absolutely loving it, we decided to buy a holiday home there and last weekend was when we "moved in".

It's great knowing we can escape Stoke at a moment's notice and within 2 hours be in our little place by the sea.

The park has everything we would look for when staying at a holiday park - a great swimming pool, friendly bars, somewhere to eat, activities for the kids and so much more!

The staff at Ocean Edge were very helpful in helping us find the right model and the right pitch at the right price.

The location is stunning thanks to the views of the beach and the sea and it's only a short drive from Morecambe and Lancaster so everything we need is on the doorstep.

Needless to say, we're going there again this weekend. Best decision we ever made!

Ocean Edge was absolutely spot on for my family when we stayed there last weekend.

We stayed in one of the caravans on Ocean Drive which had plenty of space for the four of us. It was very clean and had everything we needed from the telly in the lounge area to the utensils in the kitchen.

The park is slightly off the beaten track, but it's away from the noise of traffic and if you do want to venture off the park, Morecambe is only a short drive away, we spent Saturday afternoon in Morecambe and the rest of the time at the park as there was loads for the kids to do like the indoor and outdoor playgrounds and the indoor swimming pool.

On the Friday night there was a female singer and on the Saturday night there was a duo performing in the main bar which was good, especially as we didn't have to leave the site for our evening's entertainment.

We were visiting friends near to Ocean Edge and rather than book into a hotel or B&B, we thought we'd try something different.

We're glad we did!

We stayed in one of the caravans which was comfortable, clean and gave us more room than we'd have got in a B&B. Plus, how many B&Bs have a swimming pool and sauna?

There was a bar on site that was great for little night cap before returning to our caravan. Our friends joined us for some Sunday evening drinks and had a great time.

The shop in the park had every essential we needed for our stay and was very useful indeed.

The park is definitely a family holiday park as there is so much for the kids to get involved with such as the indoor and outdoor play areas.

Next time we visit our friends, we'll definitely be booking at Ocean Edge again.

Ocean Edge is such an incredible park. It's come on leaps and bounds in the past year or so.

We bought our holiday home here a few years back and it was a nice park then, but with the changes that have been/are being made it's turning into something even more fantastic.

The kids love coming to Morecambe to stay at our holiday home at Ocean Edge as there's so much for the kids to do.

We love it as it's nice to have a place by the seaside that we can visit when we need to rather than living there all the time and taking the sea views for granted.

My wife and I stayed here last November for a week and had a great time, so much so we've just booked to go back during the summer! We didn't have any of the problems previously mentioned and the staff were more than helpful in making sure we enjoyed our stay.
The swimming pool and sauna were fantastic and clean (and kept us out of the rain!) and we met some lovely people in the bar.
Can't wait to get back.

Stayed over easter March 08. Never again! The electric hook-ups went off about 8 or 9 times over the weekend. Staff told us although it had been recently up-graded, the power supply kept overloading and blowing a fuse. The touring pitches were not full so god knows how they will cope in peak season. The shower blocks were extremely dirty and cold, and it seems to be pot luck as to whether you got hot water or not. Some staff were friendly others were horrible. I have written a letter of complaint to head office but haven't heard anything as yet. We paid £20 a night which is expensive and didn't seem to get much for our money. I would not recomend this site to anyone.

I tend to agree with the poorer reviews. Stayed there August 2006 in a Static due to a special offer.
The static was in good repair and reasonably clean, however it is the park facilities that leave something to be desired. The so called beach is non existant, just a pile of old rubble. There is no access to it anyway. The view is of a large industrial area with huge power stations everywhere, adjacent to Heysham docks. The staff were ok, we did not have many dealings with them.
The entertainment team did try really hard with the kids that were interested and there was a magician and teddy bears picnic event, treasure hunt that sort of thing, which my youngster did enjoy. Some of the children were quite unruly, even the little ones were rough towards other kids and kept weeing on the play equipment which there was precious little of. The weather was bucketing down with rain, so the pool did come in very handy. It is not bad actually - one saving grace. I'll just finish by saying that the place just needs a bit of a facelift and perhaps some vigilant staff. The touring pitch looks cramped and vans were perched precariously on the side of a hill. Did not visit the washing facilities. Woldn't take the van there.

We stayed there last August and it was awful. The toilets were filthy, the swimming pool was disgusting and the changing rooms had mould in the showers. The pictures are totally misleading-our kids couldn't play pool as the cloths were ripped. No baby changing facilities or locks on disabled toilet doors (in the swimming changing rooms)Never again! Maybe this site was great and could be again but it was awful for us!
