Carr's Hill Certificated Location (CL) is a beautiful, quiet holiday park, licensed by The Caravan Club, that is open all throughout the year. The park has just five hard standing pitches, all of which are serviced with electric hook up and a water point. Other facilities available at this site include a chemical waste disposal point, an amenities block with toilets and showers, and Wi-Fi internet. This may be only a tiny campsite, but there is a tourist information room for guests to get all the information they need to plan a day out in Stirlingshire, and picnic tables are provided for guests looking to eat alfresco or just relax while taking in the incredible surroundings.
Carr's Hill CL offers amazing views across the local countryside, farmland and rural surround, with many of the fields open for exploring at leisure. Many of the fields feature cattle and other animals, so guests are asked to ensure their dogs are kept on leads at all times when on and close to the site, though there is plenty of space nearby where they can be let off the lead for a good run about.
Dunipace and Plean are the two nearest villages. Both have welcoming, friendly pubs where tourists can have something to eat and drink, as well as convenience stores where holiday essentials and groceries can be acquired. Those guests looking to do a more comprehensive shop will find a supermarket three miles from Carr's Hill CL.
The park is also close to a number of major towns and cities. Stirling is just six miles away, with excellent parking availability in the city centre, as well as a park and ride option for guests preferring to leave the car on the outskirts and take the bus. Stirling offers a diverse mix of independent shops along with popular chain stores, while the same rings true for the availability of bars and restaurants in the city. There are also cultural attractions such as museums and art galleries, with parks and other open spaces for those looking to get active.
Further afield, both Glasgow and Edinburgh are both within easy driving distance and have plenty to offer families, with something for all interests. Glasgow is a brilliant city to visit and just enjoy walking around it, while Edinburgh has some incredible shops, great parks and open spaces, and one of the best zoos in Europe.
Guests looking to enjoy the outdoors have the Scottish countryside on the doorstep and the coast a stone’s throw away, while a short drive to the north west introduces the amazing Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The Lochs of the park are ideal for water based activities including sailing, kayaking, and water skiing, while the whole area offers some great walking and cycling routes.
Opportunities for guests to enjoy fishing and golf abound nearby, with facilities and locations on offer for beginner and casual hobbyists as well as those that can do either activity at a reasonably good level.
If you are looking for quiet motorhome and caravan holidays near Stirling, Carr's Hill CL is a great base to use for exploring central Scotland and the country’s best cities, and is perfect for a rural family escape!
