The site was massively overcrowded and with no actual pitches, tents and caravans were just stacked right next to each other to the point you couldn't even land guide ropes properly.

The site is one big steep hill, so staying in a tent is a real challenge and sleeping is basically impossible.

The site is next to a very busy road, although there isn't much to see or do the surrounding area.

The showers are nice and new but need to be three times as big for the amount of people they try and force into this small site.

There is a playground which is very nice for kids, but not overly safe when 40+ kids are on it at the same time. Not the fault of the children though as there is no room to play balls games or run around a every inch of the site has a tent or caravan on it. I've seen more room between tent as Glastonbury!

Apart from the playground and shower block, there are no facilities to speak of, not even a small shop or a shop within walking distance.

The staff really need some customer service training as you seem to be bothering them and all they want to do it point you in the direction of your tiny space between a camper van and another tent, on a hill, with no electric hook up (even after being promised we would have one) and then never see you again.

If you take a second to think about all the negative things you have experienced when camping, then you have an idea of what to expect when you visit this hill (sorry 'Site').

Never, Never Again!

First time camping and chose here to stay as was close to home and shops, pubs, park and chippy close.
Stayed 3nights and it was a great 1st experience. Play area was great for the kids and the woods surrounding was great for the kids and dog to run and let of steam. Facilities were cleaned regularly and owners were v.friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Though it's not far from home, we wanted a nice quiet site to get away from the city centre and Riddings Wood certainly delivered. Not open very long but in a great little location, there are a couple of pubs nearby (one with a thatched roof) and the facilities on site are excellent. Nice new shower block with plenty of space including a pot wash and laundry area at the rear. The entrance has a barrier with coded entry.

There is a hard standing area towards the top of the site and then a large open field for non-electric tent pitches. We were in the open area and there were only a couple of other tents so we had plenty of room and found it quite peaceful. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be re-visiting.

Met the owner (and his parents) who we all very friendly and had a chat with them about the site, they would ask how we were getting on and were open to any improvements that we could suggest (of which there were virtually none :) ) A great job, well done!

It's a short walk to the Chinese if you don't fancy cooking for yourself. There's also a Co-Op local a short drive (or walk if you fancy it and the weather is ok).

When we arrived at the park we was greeted warmly by the on site staff. We was directed to our pitch. Shortly after they came down to see if we was ok and to bring brochures to us of the events taking place in the area which we found very useful. The pubs and shop are all within a very short walk. The park was well maintained with excellent toilets and showers. We will definitely returning in the near future. 10/10
