This is our 2nd visit to Castle Brake as we went in 2009, the first visit they were doing some work so it was rough and scruffy but had potential when grass had regrown, but this year it was sadly a total building site, lorries speeding by, piles of building materials cordoned off areas, heaps of earth with a 20/30 ft drop onto a lower tier of caravans, the lovely restaurant was closed although we were told it would be open. Fences erected behind the static caravans were such that a child on a patio chair could have climbed over easily to find another steep drop.
There were power cuts during the evenings. seasonal caravan owners towing away caravans that had been there for years. the weather has been very bad but this currently is a building site and it looks as if at the current speed of development as if it will remain so for several more years.

Stayed here in May 2008 for the second time, what a great site, clean well maintained toilet/shower block, the whole site is kept spotless, very helpful cheery staff, The bar is one of the best we have seen and now with the addition of outside caterers, serving great and inexpensive meals. all in all a well maintained/value for money site and would happily return again and again. Woodbury common is a short stroll away with its varied plant/ animal life and miles upon miles of quite walks not to be missed. The site is just 5 mins walk from Nigel Mansells motor world and golf course. In my view you would have a hard job beating this site and is well worth a visit
