Springfield Touring Park is an attractive campsite located close to the town of Wimborne, and it makes a great base for visiting the eastern part of Dorset.

This is an award winning campsite that features in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2014, a top, go-to guide that is put together by the teams at Caravan Sitefinder, Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome that lists the best campsites in the UK. And as Springfield Touring Park is one of only four campsites in the guide's Dorset section, this is also one of the best campsites in this county that is a very popular destination for camping, motorhome and caravan holidays.

Welcoming caravans, motorhomes and tents, Springfield Touring Park has 45 touring pitches, of which all but 10 are hardstanding, and many of them have electric hook-ups, too. The pitches are nicely spaced, so visitors won't feel cramped or crowded and can enjoy their touring and camping holidays in peace and privacy.

There is a clean and well maintained washblock, a dishwashing area, a laundry, an on-site shop and a tourist information point. Guests under the age of 12 will love the children’s play area, which offers a slide, swings and a playhouse. And all of this sits on a generous, 3.5-acre plot in the pretty Dorset countryside which enjoys great views of the Stour Valley. It’s also within easy reach of the ever-popular New Forest.

This is a quiet, friendly campsite that enjoys a good bus service, perfect if you want to head out and leave your car or motorhome/campervan on site. It is also easy to get to, as it doesn't sit far off the A31 – which means the whole of Dorset (as well as neighbouring Hampshire) is just waiting for you to explore it on your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays.

It will take you less than 10 minutes to drive from Springfield Touring Park to Wimborne Minster, a lovely market town where you can replenish your camping supplies, enjoy a meal out and visit the striking Minster itself, which is dedicated to St Cuthburga. Wimborne Minster Model Town and Gardens is also worth visiting.

If you're a golf fan, enjoy a round at one of the nearby golf courses. Broadstone Golf Course is a 10-minute drive from this campsite, Knighton Heath Golf Club is less than a 20-minute drive away, while both Canford Magna Golf Complex and Dudsbury Golf Club are about a quarter of an hour away by car, the latter with a spa. And there are further opportunities to play in Ferndown – it's fair to say you are spoilt for choice.

The natural beauty of this region is also easy to access from Springfield Touring Park. The wild and wonderful New Forest and its lovely, historic villages and towns will keep you busy for days, cream teas and local ales aplenty at the many cafes and pubs you will stumble across on your travels. The large, coastal towns of Bournemouth and Poole are also just half an hour and a quarter of an hour from this campsite, respectively. Visit for shops, pubs, restaurants and leisure complexes, or just for a gentle stroll along the beach. There are also a host of National Nature Reserves to explore in the area, Morden Bog, Hartland Moor and Durlston to name three.

So when pitched at this award winning campsite in Dorset on your motorhome tour or camping and caravan holidays, however you like to spend your time, you'll never be short of things to do.
