Gatebeck Park is a five-star rated retreat, and one of the most exclusive holiday parks in Cumbria. Gatebeck Park is a luxurious collection of timber lodges and first-class holiday homes that are permanently owned, giving families an excellent location to escape to throughout the year.
The park enjoys a unique location, the M6 motorway is literally on the doorstep, but you wouldn’t know it such is the beauty of the countryside and the overall landscape. Gatebeck Park is nestled nicely in mature woodland that keeps the park well sheltered while still offering great views of the area. Countryside walking routes head out from the park in every direction, with the small village of Endmoor only minutes away.
To the north, the popular Cumbrian town of Kendal is a short drive away, and gives instant access to the Lake District, one of England’s tourist gems. To the east, you will also find the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making Gatebeck the perfect resort from which to head out into the outdoors and indulge in some nature based activities.
Both areas have a huge range of things to do. Naturally, the Lake District is great for water-based sports and relaxing retreats such as fishing, while the hilly areas and rural villages are excellent places to explore for both walkers and cyclists. The Yorkshire Dales is a little gentler in terms of terrain, but still offers miles of rolling countryside for nature lovers to get out to and enjoy.
The proximity of the park to the motorway means if you want to head to Carlisle, Manchester, or Liverpool to indulge in some shopping or city-based sightseeing, then you are able to do so.
Few holiday parks have a location such as Gatebeck, with miles of woodland and lakes on your doorstep as well as easy access to some of the great cities and towns of north England.

Gatebeck is a lovely park, really tranquil. I've just been to stay with friends at their holiday lodge there and had a fantastic time.
Their holiday lodge was stunning, it was like a luxury apartment surrounded by trees. It's definitely the sort of place you want if you're looking for a home from home, especially if you live in a big town. I couldn't get over how quiet it was.
I would happily have booked a lodge there myself, but the park is for owners only. Although I did find out that the company that run Gatebeck Park also run a few parks in the Lakes and if they're anything like the ones at Gatebeck, I'll be rounding up the troops and staying there ASAP.

Me and the wife have just got back from a trip to our holiday home at Gatebeck and had another great time.
When you've got holidays to use up at work there's no point staying at home, when we can go up there for a week or so.
Our holiday home is just the right size for us really. We have a spare room, so if friends want to join us for a weekend away, there's somewhere for them to stay. The staff at Gatebeck were fantastic in helping us choose the right one for us.
I personally love going up there to do a spot of fishing, but the wife is more keen on going walking in the countryside. The park has the basic facilities that we need when we're there but is only a short walk to the village of Endmoor where we can get anything else we might need. It's also a nice place just to wander round.
Because all of the holiday homes there are owned, you get to know your holiday neighbours and there's a really community spirit about the place.
A great holiday home, in a great park!

What I love most about Gatebeck is that it's an owner's park, so even though I don't live there it still feels like home when I visit.
I bought a lodge here just over a year ago and haven't looked back. The park is lovely and peaceful and has most things that you could want from a holiday park. There's a village nearby (Endmoor) which has a few shops and is a pretty little place.
The staff at Gatebeck have been very helpful from the moment I expressed an interest in buying a lodge there right through to my last visit between Christmas and New Year last year.
If you are thinking about buying a holiday lodge, I can whole heartedly recommend Gatebeck as a peaceful retreat for couples although there are a few facilities for children if you're thinking of taking the family.
