Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park is an award-winning Park, with five stars from Visit England, as well as holding a five-pennant rating from the AA and a David Bellamy Gold Award. We also won Campsites award for 'Best Caravan Park' in the North West, and are now a Honey Bee Friendly Park, with a David Bellamy Award to commend this and our thriving Hedgerows. Visitors can choose from a range of Self Catering accommodation options including Apartments, Lakeside & Woodland Luxury Pods, and Safari Tents with a stunning settings and scenery around each.

This family friendly and dog friendly Caravan Park welcomes guests in touring caravans and motor homes, with awnings, pets, and an electric hook-up all included in the standard pitch fee. On-site facilities include a washblock with a family room as well as disabled access and baby changing facilities, a dish washing area and a laundry room, plus Calor Gas is available at the park's reception and Wi-Fi is available. You can also launch your boat onto the water directly from the jetties at this site. During the main summer season, Windermere ferry stops off at our main jetty most mornings for you to climb aboard and go explore the Lakes from Lakeside Pier.

In addition, Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park has a fully licensed on-site shop stocked with everyday essentials like milk and bread, as well as newspapers and alcoholic drinks. You can also get information about the local area here, to help you plan your adventures. Learn more about the natural environment in which this site sits by following the wildlife walks plus there is a children's play area suitable for kids of all ages, fenced off from the rest of the Park. If the weather allows, and you fancy a picnic, you can do so at one of the tables on the neatly landscaped lawn which leads down to the edge of the lake.

There are also four Holiday Apartments for hire that sleep two to six persons with two dog-friendly options too. In addition to the Apartments, Hill of Oaks has seven Deluxe Glamping Pods, three Safari Tents, as well as a one bedroom Chalet offering stunning views across Lake Windermere. All have access to the Parks facilities.

Or, if you fall in love with this Park, you can purchase a Holiday Home and make Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park your permanent holiday retreat. Both new and pre-owned properties are available, suiting a large range of budgets. Directions

By Car:
Exit Junction 36 on the M6 Motorway and head west on the A590, follow the A590 when it branches left, follow signs for Barrow and Newby Bridge. Follow the A590 until you reach a roundabout signposted Bowness turn right onto the A592 and we are approximately three miles on the left hand side where you will see a sign for Hill Of Oaks Caravan and Lodge park Park turn left and follow the road down past the white Farmhouse until you reach reception by the lakeside where our staff will be happy to help.

By Train:
Getting here by train is also quite simple. Kendal is on the main west coast line and trains run regularly from London Euston and Glasgow Central., alternatively there is a train from Kendal train station (Oxenholme) to Windermere station. It is then just a ten minute taxi ride to the leisurely relaxation of Hill of Oaks. If you are visiting us by train please call us on 015395 31578 if you would like further information, the nearest station is Windermere approx 3 miles.

By Plane:
From 4th June 2018, Carlisle Airport will be receiving inbound flights from Dublin, Belfast and London (Southend). Airport connections to Carlisle Train Station, local bus services and car hire is available. Carlisle Airport is only 75 miles from Hill of Oaks.

Our location makes us an ideal base for touring other areas within the Lake District National Park. Take a journey over Kirkstone Pass, at 1492ft it is Lakelands highest mountain pass that leads into the picturesque villages of Patterdale and Glenridding. One of our sister attractions Ullswater ‘Steamers’ operates from Glenridding, offering lake cruises on Ullswater.

All above are fairly close to the Park. On Park there are five jetties to choose from, boat launching and access to watersport activities as well as our nature walks, we provide one of the most idyllic locations to holiday, within the Lake District National Park. Fishing is also permitted from the shores, with the appropriate licences which are available online.

I was very disappointed to find out that there are no seasonal pitches available on this site.

I have previously been given a weekly price for a pitch and have now been informed that there are no pitches available & the site does not have a waiting list.

Do any seasonal pitchholders, know of anyone deciding to move on for next year? Hill of oaks was exactly what we wanted, a quiet, family site.

Hill Of Oaks & Blake Holme Caravan Estate, Windermere, Cumbria
A beautifully situated site. It caters mainly for static caravans which are located in pleasant secluded bays among the trees. Some of these sites are poorly maintained by the caravan owners which somewhat spoiled the tranquility of the location. The touring pitches are all hard standing and are of an impressive size, the toilet blocks and facilities all immaculatley maintained - some of the best I have ever used. Childrens play park and football field are good but located too far from the touring area to allow children to play unsupervised. Friendly and helpful staff.

We have a seasonal tourer on the site and we abosolutely love visiting the caravan each weekend

We particually enjoy the friendlyness of the staff and other owners of caravans.

We visit every weekend during the season and when the season end we always look forward to the start again.

I booked this for as a 60th birthday present. They haven’t stopped talking about the accommodation, location, quality of the finish in the apartment, including the very kind gesture of a bottle of wine and goodies left for their special occasion. As a result, I cannot recommend this park enough. Just don't tell everyone, we won’t get booked again!

With breathtaking views over Windermere, this aptly named detached Lakeland lodge offers stylish and contemporary accommodation with a cosy, romantic atmosphere. Blakeholme Bay View is a couple’s haven in one of the most desirable Lake District locations. The accommodation comprises of an airy open plan living area with oak flooring throughout and vaulted ceilings. There is a very well equipped kitchen area with stainless steel appliances and a solid oak dining table for two which leads on to the lounge area with leather furnishings, including, a large chair and footstool and small two seater sofa. There is also a 40" plasma screen television with all the expected gadgets! Patio doors lead out to a decked veranda, perfect for al-fresco living. The elegant bedroom with sumptuous Egyptian cotton bedding also boasts the fantastic lake views and there is also an iPod/iPhone docking station for those who can't quite leave behind the latest technology! The shower room is complete with power shower and luxurious Egyptian cotton towels, a great way to unwind after a day on the fells.

Located by the lakeshore in an idyllic setting, we have four luxury Pods on site (one dog friendly) that sleep up to four persons. Each Pod comes fully equipped with a kitchen ( including two ring cooker, microwave and fridge ), underfloor heating, TV, free Wi-Fi ( fair usage policy), shower, toilet, leather sofa bed, table and chairs. To the exterior, direct lakeshore access (fishing by licence please enquire at reception ), porch with raised balcony area and patio furniture . Parking for one car. Towels and bed linen are included, guests are welcome to use park laundry facilities. Welcome pack on arrival. Short breaks from 3/4 nights available from £210, start day Monday or Friday.
