Gate House Wood Touring Park is one of the most charming family friendly holiday parks in Kent. Open from March 1st to November 1st each year, the campsite has been given a four star rating by the South East England tourist board, and is very popular with repeat visitors. This loyalty brings a real community feel to the campsite.

The park has 60 touring pitches that are suitable for both caravans and motorhomes, while spaces for tents to pitch are also available. Gate House Wood Touring Park benefits from a unique surrounding area, having been created from the site of an old quarry. As a result, the site is well sheltered by a surrounding wooden embankment, while the trees and shrubs across the site add a degree of privacy as well as creating a beautiful landscape in which to spend a holiday in the ‘Garden of England.’

Gate House Wood Touring Park has a number of facilities available on the site to guarantee comfort and convenience for guests throughout their stay. Purpose built toilet and shower blocks are available, along with laundry facilities and a chemical waste disposal point. There is plenty of open space as well as a play area for children who want to let off some steam during their stay, while guests can keep up to date with what is happening in the wider world if they wish to by collecting a Wi-Fi code from the reception area. The on-site park shop is well stocked and sells everything from crisps and snacks to freshly delivered meats from a local butcher, which guests can then use in one of the on-site brick barbecue pits.

If you prefer not to cook every night of your camping and caravan holidays in Kent the good news is that you will find a Beefeater pub and restaurant close to the park. There is also a popular Chinese restaurant and other local pubs serving food close by.
Guests staying at Gate House Wood Touring Park have the very best of the Kent countryside at their disposal. Exploring the surroundings of the site can be done on foot or on bicycle, while the proximity of the park to the M26 motorway means it is easy to head out and explore the other villages and towns that are a trademark of Kent.

The nearest village to the park is Wrotham, a friendly place with several local businesses. It is a great place to walk around and also offers access to various countryside walks and trails.

A number of country parks and National Trust properties are within a short drive of the park, while the popular Hop Farm at Paddock Wood and the legendary Brands Hatch motor racing circuit are both popular visiting posts among guests.
Those that don’t mind travelling a little further can venture to Ashford where there is a popular shopping outlet, while historic Rochester to the north offers a glimpse of the days when Charles Dickens lived in the area.

Terrible experience with male campsite owner shouting at our children for no good reason, and being rude to my husband. The lady who owns the place apologised to us for his behaviour, but we would never stay there again and it looks like we are not the only ones who have experienced aggressive behaviour from him, based off other reviews on Google.
