Porlock Caravan Park

Minehead, Somerset

Porlock Holiday Park is a multi-award winning family run holiday park sat within the beautiful village from which it takes its name. The park is rated as a five-star destination by the AA and the Somerset Tourist Board. It is in a quiet location with all the local amenities of Porlock village, which include pubs, restaurants and a collection of local businesses within a five minute stroll.

Pitches are available at this campsite in Somerset for touring caravans and motorhomes as well as for tents, while there are a small number of static holiday homes on the site for hire. We also have a number of statics and lodges for sale. Several of the pitches at Porlock Holiday Park are hardstanding, with electric hook-ups available too.

On-site facilities available here include hot showers, toilets and basins in the wash block, a laundrette and a dishwashing facility. In addition, this is a dog friendly campsite and there is a dedicated dog exercising area. Porlock Holiday Park has a beautiful nature garden as well as having an additional number of conservation features dotted throughout the park. There's also a separate field where rallies are held on numerous occasions during the year.

Sat in the heart of Exmoor National Park, Porlock Holiday Park is the ideal place to stay to discover many hidden gems either by walking, cycling or even horse riding. The Park offers breath taking scenery in every direction and the most wonderful star gazing in the night skies you could ever imagine. From the stunning coastline to the north, including Porlock Bay and the Exmoor Heritage Coast, to inland moors, valleys and woodland, you could spend a lifetime exploring Exmoor and never get bored.

Guests looking to get active on their camping holidays will find plenty to do nearby. In addition to cycle hire and horse riding, this campsite is close to a gym, tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool. There are also lots of opportunities for fishing and playing golf.

For something a little different close to the campsite, how about the Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre (a five-minute drive away), the West Somerset Rural Life Museum (also around five minutes from this campsite by car), or the National Trust owned Dunster Working Watermill, which is about a 20-minute drive from Porlock Holiday Park. Dunster village is worth a visit steeped in history and boasting Dunster castle which is open to the public.

The coastal town of Minehead is only around a 15-minute drive along the A39 from the campsite. Here you will find plenty of shops, including a large Tesco supermarket, ideal for topping up your holiday supplies, plus a range of cafes, restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy a meal and take a night off cooking – and washing up! Watchet, a harbour town further along the coast, to the east of Minehead, is also worth visiting and is about a half hour drive from the campsite.

But for many, the main attraction is the glory of the natural world and this you can explore in abundance when pitched at Porlock Holiday Park on your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Somerset.

One of the nicest sites I've found over the last 5 years and I've been a regular visitor since my first stay in 2009. It is in the perfect location for the Exmoor National Park and only 2 minutes walk into the town centre where there are some Lovely places to eat and drink. I've used this site as a base for cycling and there are some of the nicest, traffic-free (almost) roads in the South West. The grounds and facilities are immaculate and it is so pleasing to have such good showers after a long day in the saddle. It is also a peaceful site for one near a town centre - this could be due to the enthusiastic camper/caravan clientele who have more consideration for other users. This is a site I will return to on a regular basis!

We have visited this Carvan Park in Porlock three times this year. And have been going there for the last 24 years It is fantastic, so clean and organised. Sue who runs it really knows her stuff! It is central in the village, so everything in Porlock is within easy reach. There are various restaurants and 3 good pubs, so even good on rainy days! Would recommend this site any day, so friendly and homely. Cleanliness is exceptional.
