We were not certain what to expect when we visited Bath Marina and Caravan Park as previous reviews we had read about it had been mixed.
The initial impression was not great as it wasn’t obvious where new arrivals were expected to park. We stopped next to a No Parking notice as this was near the reception and behind someone else that was checking in. We ensured we left room for others to get past but didn’t feel comfortable with where we had stopped.
It didn’t get much better when we checked in as the lady in reception had no record of our booking and quoted us a higher price than my wife had been told when she had telephoned to make the booking. Apparently we were not the first ones that day that this had happened to and to be fair we were given a pitch and charged the price originally quoted but it didn’t make a good impression.
The pitch itself was fine, being hard concrete and level, but I was glad for the mover as being down the end of one of the sections it would have been tight manoeuvring with the car. There were bins and water points at the end of each section so you didn’t have far to walk, though we were surprised that there were no recycling facilities.
There are two toilet blocks that have the same layout along with dish washing and toilet waste disposal. These could really do with having some money spent on them, they had the feel of being somewhat neglected. Whilst they were always clean it was not good to see rusty brackets in the showers and one wall panel was damaged which was allowing water to get behind. They would also benefit from having some more hooks in the shower cubicles.
The location of this site is really superb, being across the road from one of the Bath Park and Ride sites as well as a nice canal side pub and alongside the canal footpath.
Overall we didn’t feel that the site was as bad as some of the reviews had stated but, because of the poor condition of the facilities, we don’t think it is a five star site.
Will we visit again? Quite possibly as we usually go to Bath for the Christmas Market and this would make a good base for that.

We visited this site for 3 nights and couldn't fault it. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pitches are all flat and easily accessed. The facilities, although old, are clean and fresh. We would definitely visit again.

This was the 6th time we have stayed here. We stay here for the Bath Christmas market. There is a park and ride a 10 min walk away, very convenient for getting into the centre of Bath. The shower blocks are a bit tired but kept spotlessly clean. It right by the river and if your feeling energetic there is a pleasant 2 mile walk into Bath.
