The Isle of Avalon Touring Caravan Park is a friendly and family run caravan park a short distance outside Glastonbury. Open all year, this park has been awarded an AA four-pennant rating and is one of the best campsites in Somerset.

Here you will find 70 all-weather pitches that are suitable for touring caravans and motorhomes, with an additional 60 pitches for guests in tents. Caravan storage facilities are available here too – storage at the park is secure and alarmed for maximum safety and peace of mind.

The location of the park makes it an ideal base from which to explore Glastonbury itself or head out across the county of Somerset. Glastonbury Tor is the perfect place to head if you want to see the best views on offer of the Somerset Levels – on a clear day you might even be able to see as far afield as Dorset, Wiltshire and Wales. The Tor is a great place for enjoying the scenery but is also brilliant for a picnic with the family.

In Glastonbury there is a range of attractions that will help visitors understand the history and heritage of the town. The Somerset Rural Life Museum and Glastonbury Abbey are among the most popular places to visit, while the medieval building The Tribunal offers a look at 15th century architecture both inside and out.

The Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to this campsite is just waiting for you to explore it. Whether on foot, on bicycle or on horseback, there are miles upon miles of trails and paths to follow, either on your own or on an official, guided tour. Two famous places to visit in the area are also Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge.

Further afield, holidaymakers staying at The Isle of Avalon Touring Caravan Park have the choice of whether to head to other historic towns and cities in the area, or to travel out to the coast or to other areas of greenery and woodland. A drive through the countryside will bring you to the historic and beautiful Bath, while the close proximity of the M5 motorway means guests can be in Bristol, Taunton, or Exeter relatively quickly. Weston-super-Mare is also easy to get to and is one of the most iconic seaside resorts in the UK – its Grand Pier is a day out in itself.

We are frequent visitors here - this is a well kept site and the excellent washblock has the largest shower cubicles we've ever met. Washing-up and laundry facilities are spacious, airy and include ironing, and deep freeze. They go overboard with flowers [but there is a good nursery across the road]. If ever you have a problem the staff go to great lengths to help.
As it is a short walk into town, a short drive to several National Nature Reserves [think otters, bitterns marsh harriers and huge autumn flocks of starlings] and there are some great cafes and lots of good cycling near here we find ourselves returning three or four times a year.

The Isle of Avalon Caravan Park was wonderful.
A group of us came down to camp and found it very friendly, the amenities were very clean and accessible, the toilet and shower block were to a high standard and the staff were very helpful.
There is a small shop with all that you need and the town is just a short walk from the site.

Perfect for families who want to escape the resorts with clubs, pubs and entertainment on them.
We had a lovely time and are hoping to use the site many more times in the future.
