Camping and caravan holidays in Somerset have long been popular and with the county's spectacular countryside and dramatic coastline, it is not hard to see why.

Found a short way north of Weston-super-Mare, Country View Holiday Park is a family friendly campsite that welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. It is also easy to access – just leave the M5 at junction 21. There are 120 touring pitches here, which accommodate tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus there are seasonal pitches. In addition, there are some static holiday homes for sale, so you can make Country View your permanent holiday retreat. This park is open from March until January every year.

Facilities available on this campsite include toilets, basins and showers, including some with disabled access. There's also a dishwashing area, a laundry, ironing facilities and an Elsan disposal point.

When it comes to kicking back and relaxing, or burning off some energy, at Country View Holiday Park there's a play area for the children, an arcade and games room, a large, heated, outdoor swimming pool and an outside patio area with a bar. All this and you're a mere 200 yards from the beach.

If you can drag yourself away from this campsite, visit Weston-super-Mare – the town centre is less than 15 minutes away by car. Go to the famous Grand Pier, ride the Wheel of Weston, catch a show at the Playhouse Theatre or just enjoy fish and chips on the beach.

There's so much more to see and do when you visit Somerset on your motorhome tours and your camping and caravan holidays. Explore the spectacular limestone Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including the world famous Cheddar Gorge and the caves at Wookey Hole. Discover the Mendips on foot or on two wheels – or go pony trekking.

Bristol is just a 45-minute drive away and well worth a day out. Take in the engineering feat that is the Clifton Suspension Bridge and enjoy a drink in one of Clifton's pubs or cafes, before wandering around the independent shops, or maybe visit Bristol Zoo, M Shed, the SS Great Britain, the cathedral or enjoy the views from the Cabot Tower.

Or visit Bath, which is about a 70-minute drive from Country View Holiday Park. It is an architecturally beautiful city that you can take pleasure from just by wandering around. But to get a real taste of the city and its heritage, take to the waters in the rooftop pool of the Thermae Bath Spa, walk along the world famous Royal Crescent and visit the Roman baths. You can also get a taste for this city by drinking some Abbey Ale and eating a Sally Lunn bun – or take afternoon tea.

Elsewhere, the charming cathedral city of Wells is only 50 minutes from this campsite by car and world famous Glastonbury is also under an hour's drive away. There is so much more to Glastonbury than its music festival in nearby Pilton – discover the town's mystical side at the Tor or the Abbey.

Stay at the beachside Country View Holiday Park on your camping and caravan holidays in Somerset, and enjoy the best that this county has to offer.
