Henllan Caravan Park is a pretty, three-star rated campsite that sits on the banks of the River Banwy, a short distance west of Welshpool.

This campsite in Wales welcomes motorhomes, touring caravans and tents, while there are also a number of permanent holiday homes here that can be hired. All touring pitches are hardstanding and have electric hook-ups plus water and waste connections. In addition, there are also a number of caravans and chalets available for purchase, should guests wish to make this beautiful part of Wales their regular holiday escape.

Facilities available on-site for guests to use include toilets and showers, a laundry room, a children’s play area, and a games room with a pool table and an arcade machine. There is also a nine-acre area dedicated to pitch and putt golf, and a bowling green that is open throughout the season, weather permitting, and is available for guests to use while also attracting keen players from the local area, meaning there is always some friendly competition going on at the park! If you've pitched here, you can take advantage of the campsite's proximity to the river and enjoy trout fishing at various points along the banks. Within walking distance of the park is a bar and restaurant, which welcomes the whole family and hosts some brilliant live entertainment most Saturday evenings.

Much of wonderful Wales is waiting for you to explore and is easy to access when you're staying at Henllan Caravan Park. Snowdonia National Park is a short drive away – are you brave enough to hike up Snowdon? Of course, you can always take the train and still soak in the views from the summit. Even if mountain climbing isn't your thing, there are plenty of fabulous vistas to drink in when visiting this national park, and whether you're on foot, you're cycling, you're on horseback, or even if you're pushing a buggy or you suffer mobility issues, you can still discover and enjoy the area, its lakes, mountains, valleys, woodland and much more.

As this campsite sits just off the A458, it's peaceful yet at the same time very accessible. Powis Castle and Garden, administered by the National Trust, is less than 20 minutes by car along the A458. And as you're quite near the Welsh/English border, the town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire is also within reach (about an hour's drive away) as is Oswestry, the latter under 45 minutes away. Or how about some time spent wandering or maybe cycling round the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your camping and caravan holidays in Wales?

If you fancy a day out at the beach, get an early start and make the two-hour drive to the north coast of Wales, where places like Colwyn Bay and Rhyl await you. Indeed, Aberystwyth, on the west coast of Wales, is around 90 minutes from Henllan Caravan Park, this historic market town and resort with plenty to offer besides its famous Royal Pier and rather fine seafront.

I have stayed here twice. The first time we was rudely spoken to by staff and made to feel like we wasn’t welcome… we gave them a second chance, after all everyone has bad days right? This time round we get to day 3 and a big group of adults turned up and set up right next to us, absolutely fine…. Until they let there dogs off the lead and they was coming over to our tent and approached my kids aggressively… so I complained about the dogs being off the lead! Because I complained this beastly family partied until gone midnight constantly waking my 3 sons up! So I complained again! NOTHING WAS DONE! Then they let there dogs off the lead again, so I complained… only this time 8 fully grown adults ganged up against myself verbally abusing me and calling me names and commenting on my appearance… ALL OF THIS WAS DONE IN FRONT OF THE OWNERS… they did absolutely NOTHING! I asked for them to be moved or asked to leave in which we was told if we ain’t happy for us to leave 😤 we was refused a full refund for the night we was abused and my kids were petrified as well as for our remaining nights! Before we left this family verbally abused us some more, rammed a walking stick through my car window in to my face and hit my car with it also… and still the staff was okay with that! So moral of the story is, they care more about big group bookings that abuse family’s with children because they’d rather money over the safety of there guests! May I add my kids are aged 2,6 and 7 we had to pack up and leave for our own safety while a group of abusive animals got to stay and enjoy there holiday!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
