Bank Farm Caravan Park, Welshpool

Welshpool, Powys

Bank Farm Caravan Park is found in an idyllic location in Welshpool, Powys, close to the border between Wales and England. It's a short distance from Breidden Forest at the foot of the Breidden Hills. The park offers amazing views of the surrounding area, with rolling countryside, hills, and woodland all visible from the site. Bank Farm Caravan Park is a family run site, and is a beautifully landscaped park that is also home to a range of wildlife. The park's guests often manage to see the wild deer that roam through the adjacent forest.

The park welcomes guests coming for their tent, motorhome and touring caravan holidays on an adjacent field. Electric hook ups are available on all pitches, while the site also offers shower and toilet blocks, a laundrette, and Wi-Fi Internet. The park is also an LPG gas stockist should guests need this camping essential.

There is much to do on the site of Bank Farm itself, which remains a working farm. If you like fishing holidays, you'll be pleased to know that you can go fishing on site. Families are also keen to discover the delights of the snooker room, games room, and football pitch.

There is also a children’s adventure playground for little ones to run off their energy reserves, while a small lending library is available for guests looking to indulge in a good book during their stay. Those who enjoy eating al fresco during the warmer months can take advantage of the park’s picnic area.

The nearest pub, The Breidden, is a short, five minute walk away, and can be reached on a footpath that heads out directly from the park. With great ales and local food, this pub is a favourite among families. Two other pubs, The Green Dragon and The Hand and Diamond, are also a short distance away, but you may need to get someone to volunteer as the designated driver if you are heading out for a drink there.

Away from Bank Farm there is much more of Wales and Shropshire for guests to explore. Breidden Forest has a range of trails and is a wonderful place to explore. Visit Powis Castle, which is found a short drive away, and has some of the most beautifully landscaped gardens in all of Wales, as well as the castle itself. The castle is still furnished, so guests can get a sense of how it would have been used when it was a permanent residence, back in more turbulent medieval times.

Go quad biking, paintballing or trekking at a centre close to the campsite. Enjoy Welshpool's amazing leisure centre, with its swimming pool with slides and a wave machine.

Lake Vyrnwy is a man made lake close to Bank Farm and is one of the best places for bird watching in all of Wales, designated as an RSPB reserve.

Take a day out with a picnic and go cycling around the lake. These activities are favourites among families, with many great spots to sit, relax, and enjoy breathtaking views.

Visit the Llanfair Light Railway if you enjoy train rides through spectacular scenery.

The nearby market towns mean there is always somewhere to head that isn’t the countryside, and with different locations having markets on different days of the week, there is always somewhere to go hunting for a bargain. Welshpool is the nearest market town, but Oswestry, Newtown, and Shrewsbury are also a short drive away.
