Umberleigh Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a beautiful caravan park on the outskirts of the village whose name we share. The park is open from late March until early November, and we welcome motorhomes, caravans, and tents onto the site. We are a family and pet friendly park, with plenty of open spaces in addition to a children’s adventure playground and a clubhouse for youngsters to enjoy.
Serviced pitches with electric hook-ups are available, while laundry, washing up, and chemical waste disposal facilities are available to all guests, as is Wi-Fi internet.
Our park is situated in the Taw Valley, and wherever you look from your pitch you’ll be confronted with beautiful rolling countryside, meadows, and woodland. Fishing and tennis are both available for families to enjoy on the site itself, free tennis coaching is available during the summer months, while numerous walking routes head out from and bypass our location.
Although a small village, Umberleigh has everything you need for a comfortable stay if you’re not looking to venture out too far from our site, including a Post Office, pub, and stores stocking conveniences as well as local produce. The town of Barnstaple can be found a short distance to the north, and is a hotspot for cyclists as they can pick up the Tarka Trail, which is over 30 miles of cycle track running through beautiful landscape, from there. Barnstaple is also home to a number of shops, supermarkets, and a market that sells a variety of goods.
We are also within reach of a number of excellent beach locations, including Northam, while to the north Exmoor National Park is a great place to head to continue your exploration of the beautiful Devon outdoors. The South West Coastal Path can be picked up in these villages for anyone looking to enjoy cliff top walks and stunning scenery. The Milky Way Adventure Park is a popular attraction with families in the area. A short drive along the coast from nearby Bideford, there are rides for the whole family as well as ferret and bird of prey displays throughout the year.
Within Bideford itself, the BIG Sheep attraction features sheep racing, duck trials, and a laser tag experience, while those looking for a city experience can drive right into Exeter and enjoy everything it has to offer. For a unique and peaceful village experience, head into Clovelly; it’s traffic free, and a place you’ll never forget as a result.
