Disappointing from the moment of opening the caravan door.
Upon opening the caravan we were hit with the smell of wet dog. The carpet was covered in dog hair and had stains all over it.
The general cleanliness of the van was poor as was the general state of it. The caravans are not looked after all. The website makes out you have a lovely new fancy caravan but in reality they are nothing like what is advertised.
We had several issues with the van which were, gas fire not working, the shower/hot water kept going hot and cold and the drains weren't emptying quick enough causing the shower to fill up whilst in use as well as the cleanliness of the caravan.
We reported the issues immediately and asked for a different caravan but was told they didn't have any available and that they would send someone around to fix it so we arranged for 9am the next morning.
9am came and nobody turned up so contacted reception and eventually they turned up at 11am and fixed the fire but couldn't fix hot water. Was told a boiler specialist would come at 1pm but we wanted to go out so they then decided to swap our caravan when we got back.
We arrived back and got the keys for another caravan so we packed everything away to go to the new caravan and we opened the door of it and it stank again plus it had no beds made and rubbish obviously hadn't been cleaned.
Off to reception again it was, swapped again so 3rd time lucky....
Got to the van opened up and it and it smelt ok, the entrance had a few dog hairs and muddy foot prints.......
Had a look round to check if everything worked and so far so good.... Only trouble was no toilet roll in bathroom and no bedding in the double room.
Also if you plan on washing your dirty dishes bring washing up liquid, dish cloths and tea towels. No cleaning items are supplied.
So hopefully now 2 days in to our stay we may be able to enjoy it........
If its any worse I will update this review on Friday 11th October.
Overall I don't think we would stay here again especially if we were paying the ridiculous high season prices.
Avoid it if u can

If you are going to stay here the top tip would be to make sure you take bleach, antibacterial cleaner, frabreze and washing up equipment.
The caravan i stayed in was filthy, the first morning was spent cleaning to make it half habitual, Read the reviews on this place and take note of the poor ones they are a true reflection of the park, the feeling i get is the good reviews of cleanliness are probably after people like me have stayed there and cleaned the caravan properly.
The site feels like its closing in on you, out of every window your view is of other caravans, the caravans are very close together expect to hear your neighbours every move

Really disgusted. Arrived with our two young children to find the caravan stank of urine! Went to reception to complain. Was assured that it would be sorted out. Within 10 mins the Head of Cleaning turned up with some air freshener!
Sofas were thread bare. Cooker was greasey. so that we could stay in reasonable comfort I had to go out and buy cleaning stuff and bleach. Spent the next few hours cleaning. It is clear that the cleaners use one cloth / mop to clean the bathroom and then out into the main living area (possibley even the kitchen for all I know). I am not house proud by any means but this was horrible. The taps were filthy too so it wasn't just an error on one occassion.

Swimming pools where good. Restaurants sold the usual rubbish. Shop very expensive and not well stocked.

If you stay here order a shopping delivery from a good supermarket or there is a Tesco Express near by, and include in your shop cleaning products.

We have stayed at a few Parkdean sites and have been very pleased with the caravans / cleaning etc but we will never return to the Hayling Island one.

Well What can i say...What a load of rubbish..Got there early had to wait hours for the key. When we got into our caravan it wasnt what we expected it wasnt that clean..In the kids room there was a handle missing off the window...Under the fridge and freezer there were crumbs... The Glasses in the cupboard were dirty.. The Entertment was soooo boring....The shop on site was very expensive...And it was a bit of a walk to the beach which had nothing there apart from a little fun fair and a few argades and NO shops...We booked for 4 nights but left on the 3rd night...

My mother and a friend stayed at this site for a long weekend, apart from the weather being bad, the caravan was very poor, certainly nothing like the pictures portrayed on the website, pillows on the bed were yellow and very worn and thin, curtains torn and falling off the windows, very uncomfortable beds, sofas were very tired and worn and very uncomfortable, rather a waste of money I'm afraid.

Arrived at park about 2.30pm 2 adults and 2 children (under 6). Don't expect to get keys for caravan if you arrive early...not available until 4pm!
Indoor pool temperature a little chilled (kids soon became cold)
Just 2 showers in pool area (non in changing room). Not allowed to use shampoo!
Entertainment staff not bad but a little overworked I felt (not much variety). Karaoke cancelled...not happy...was looking forward to some adult stuff!
Great for young kids..not so for teens or adults!
Overall...small, quiet park, clean and tidy, but felt cramped.
4 nights was more than enough

Hayling Island has some points going for it with others making it not so good.
On the good side our caravan was near new and immaculate - only "complaint" was the cooker wasnt self igniting.
The staff were very helpful on arrival and on other occasions. The site was also very clean all over.
There is entertainment on the site and we went to 2 of the bingo sessions which was fun - but there were only about 30-40 people in a room for 200, top prize of £66.
This was one of the downsides with there being no atmosphere. We're not nightlife hawks, but it made the place seem "dead".
The camp people who looked after the kids were very good as well, but there were few kids for them to look after, and I think that made it difficult for them.
We had our 6 yr old G/Daughter with us and she loved the "Crazy Caves" room where she could have a slide, jump on a room full of balls etc.
The biggest down for the site is that theres no shop, so if you need something like matches to light your cooker, or find you've forgotton to bring bread etc, it means a car trip. The nearest shop is about half our walk away. We found it strange for such a large site to have no shop.
The location is not the best either being about a mile from the seafront, again another car journey.
Another point was there were loads of posters and leaflets inviting you to buy your own caravan, and when handing in keys at end ( with a 50% deposit ). My wife was made to wonder if they were trying to sell off all the caravans, and lots seem to be privately owned already.
Hayling Island has no sandy beaches, and a local warned us that the currents can be dangerous.
If your into kite surfing its great. ( theres a live webcam if you look up Hayling Island surfcam.)
For anyone interested in railways Hayling island has a seafront railway as well, but all in all its not really what we'd call a holiday resort.
To sum up the site is clean etc but without a shop and its location lets it down

Clean and well maintained quiet site. I believe most vans privately owned at present which makes it a little quiet, lacking a "holiday park" feel. great for small children-good animation team. Pleasant indoor and outdoor pool.
Premier caravans very comfortable indeed. Only drawback is no outdoor furniture to sit on. I think that's to encourage you to sit on their little patio and buy their refreshments.
We took two teens, big mistake. The weather didnt help either. The entertainment wasnt great and the club house was nearly empty once the kids shows were over. This could be because the weather was so awful all over the UK at the time, it may have put people off travelling but it was the first week of the school holidays in July so we did expect more of a holiday atmosphere.
