Wear Farm is a collection of privately owned static holiday homes in the heart of Devon. Found on the banks of the River Teign close to the seaside town of Teignmouth, the park is open from Easter to October every year, and has a friendly community of holiday home owners that enjoy staying at the site.
Wear Farm is such a popular site that holiday homes may not always be available, so if you're looking to purchase a home away from home, you are encouraged to contact the park directly to enquire about availability, well in advance of your stay.
All of the holiday homes at Wear Farm are modern and fitted with all the latest appliances and conveniences. Pets are allowed to stay at the park with their owners, and additional facilities found at the site include a laundrette and a well-stocked on-site shop, ideal for buying holiday essentials as well as groceries.
With the River Teign being part of the park, guests are welcome to take their boats along for a stay at Wear Farm, with watersports on the river permitted, alongside plenty of picturesque fishing points from where guests can kick back and enjoy a day by the water’s edge.
Although the park itself and the immediate surrounding area are both quiet, there is no shortage of things for tourists to do while staying at Wear Farm. Outside the site are miles of open countryside for families to explore, whether looking for a great spot for a family picnic or somewhere quiet to walk the dog. Riverside and woodland walks are always popular, while there are also plenty of open spaces for guests to enjoy ball games and other activities.
Visit Devon and, of course, you're spoilt when it comes to walking opportunities and places of immense and inspiring natural beauty. Indeed, from Wear Farm you can easily access the wild and wonderful wilderness that is the Dartmoor National Park, full of dark, brooding, remote beauty and wonder. See it at your own pace or take a guided tour. Enjoy walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing, geocaching and canoeing. You could also visit Dartmoor Zoo or the prison.
Teignmouth itself is only a 10-minute drive from Wear Farm, a pretty town on the so-called English Riviera with plenty of shops and eateries. Take in the Grand Pier or maybe stroll along the seafront. Or perhaps the Teignmouth to Dawlish Railway Walk takes your fancy?
You can also head to Newton Abbot, again only about 10 minutes from this holiday park. Or, if you want to go a little further afield, other English Riviera places such as Paignton and Torquay (both half an hour away) and Brixham (a 40-minute drive from this park) are very easy to get to and well worth the trip. Also a 25-minute drive away is Totnes as is Exeter, this thriving cathedral and university city a great shopping destination, if its historic and cultural delights do not take your fancy.
