Holmsley Caravan & Camping Site is a beautiful holiday location situated within the New Forest National Park and close to the famous Heritage Coastline of Dorset. The park is open from mid-April until late October, and we welcome motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents onto our site. We welcome family pets onto the site – there’s a dedicated dog-free area too for those who wish to be away from domestic animals – while there are facilities for laundry and a small number of electric hook-ups are available.

On-site, we have a convenience store where you can buy freshly baked bread each morning as well as groceries, children’s toys and games for rainy days, and the rest of your holiday essentials; we also serve takeaway food from the café on-site, meaning you never have to leave the park surround if you don’t want to!

Our site is actually an old Second World War airfield, adding a piece of history as well as charm to our great location. The nearest village to our site is Burley, where you’ll find tearooms, pubs, and other friendly local shops.

The New Forest National Park is famous for its miles of walking and cycling routes, and you’re close to both of these when you stay with us, with many routes going straight past the park. There are trails in abundance for you to explore, while ball games and other activities, including fishing, are able to be enjoyed throughout the surrounding area.

Although you’ll find yourself surrounded by countryside and woodland when you stay with us, we are close to a number of great beaches. The nearest to us is Barton on Sea, although a short drive south will give you access to the whole of the “English Riviera.” Our nearest towns are Bournemouth and Poole; both are filled with shops and attractions such as the cinema and the theatre, so everyone can find something that appeals to them.

The unique thing about our location is that you also have the opportunity to head across the sea in numerous directions. The Isle of Wight is the most obvious place to go and explore, but you can take the ferry from Bournemouth and end up in the Channel Islands or even northern France if you’d like to add a cosmopolitan flavour to your stay with us!

Our park is a great base for exploring the New Forest, the coastline, or heading even further afield, and you’re sure to enjoy staying with us.

this was a lovely site for a pre high season stay.

We stayed for a long weekend 12th to 15th June 2009. We had a premium pitch which was on hardstanding with hook up. It was very nice. We got there early lunch on a Friday which I would recommend as by Friday evening people were having difficulty finding the pitch they wanted. This is because all pitches first come first serve basis and find and choose your own spot.

The shop is fine, but a little expensive. There is a Sainsburys near by on the way into Christchurch. Though my son loved the local ice cream. The chips from the take away were good, but we mainly cooked from our BBQ.

Saturday was a little noisy as the site was quite busy. Though the rest of the time it was peaceful quite, especially as we pitched right on the edge of the park.

The wildlife was plenty with horses by the main gate and cows near ours, plus plenty of rabbits.

Would we go again? Yes, but not in the peak school holidays or a Bank Holiday. I don't think the place was fully booked this weekend, but it was very busy and popular.
