Ashbourne Camping and Caravanning Club Site can be found in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside a short distance outside the town of Ashbourne, within reach of the beautiful Peak District National Park. We are open from mid-March until mid-November every year, and welcome motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents onto our 70-pitch site. We also have a beautiful holiday apartment available for rent a short distance from the site itself, which can accommodate a family of four as well as a camping cabin which is great if you don't have your own unit.
We are a family and pet friendly site with children’s play area and plenty of open space for little legs to run around, explore, and burn off energy. We’re also accommodating of caravan rallies and hold regular events throughout the year; check before booking if you want to be involved.
On site, we offer electric hook-ups for all pitches, while Wi-Fi internet access is also available for guests to use at their leisure. Washing up and chemical waste disposal facilities are available on site for your convenience, too.
Our site is the perfect base for anyone who wants to get out and explore the nature trails and walks available in the surrounding area. The Tissington Trail is the most famous of these, taking in some great locations, while you can also cycle or even go horse riding on many of the surrounding routes, too. Carsington Water is situated nearby and is a popular bird watching sanctuary, while water sports, fishing, and other activities also available. Poole’s Cavern and Buxton country park is a gateway to woodland exploration and the popular tree-top adventure activity Go Ape! can also be found here.
There are also sports ground where you can play football, cricket, basketball, and many other ball games, a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, gym, and a number of golf courses all within four miles of our park. Alton Towers theme park is only a short drive from the site, too.
If outdoor activities aren’t your main love, then there are many beautiful National Trust properties in close proximity to our location, including Sudbury Hall, Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, and Haddon Hall. Buxton is also a great place to go and visit; you might know it for the water brand but you’ll fall in love with the architecture while walking around the town, and the opera is a must visit attraction there, too.
