Cruise Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal when you book a self-drive boating holiday with Le Boat. It's the perfect opportunity to drink in the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish Highlands as you traverse the scenic waterways at your own pace. You don't need any previous boating experience, either - the friendly team will demonstrate everything you need to know at the start of the holiday before you set out.

The Highland heritage is evident as you travel between hilltop castles and and historic towns, with Urquhart Castle in Drumnadrochit a particular highlight, as well as the museums of Fort Augustus, including the Caledonian Canal Visitor Centre and the Clansman Centre. The local landscapes are rugged and wild with a backdrop of soaring mountains, perfect for hiking and observing local wildlife. You'll find it perfect for a spot of fishing, too, with Loch Ness playing host to salmon and Ferrox trout and the Caledonian Canal containing pike, charr, and more. Scotland is also, of course, the home of golf, and if you enjoy a round or two you'll be spoilt for choice, with Castle Stuart Golf Links, Loch Ness Golf Course, the Inverness Golf Club and the Fort Augustus Golf Club all accessible along your journey.

The route allows you to travel from Fort William up to the historic city of Inverness, traversing the Caledonian Canal as well as a number of the area's lochs, including the famous Loch Ness. Le Boat's base in the area is situated in the village of Laggan, where you'll find your boat and begin your journey.
