Best of Devon, South West England

Make sure you have a place to stay, these top parks tend to have great response times...

California Cross Camping and Caravanning Club Site

California Cross Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a beautiful caravan park that you will find situated just a short distance from the famous South Devon Heritage Coastline. Open from late March to late September, we offer 80 serviced pitches that are open to tents, motorhomes, and touring caravans.

We are a family friendly caravan park in Devon and allow you to bring your household pets along for the experience, too. We have a play area for youngsters while your pets can enjoy the wide-open spaces that the park offers. Our pitches offer convenient electric hook-ups for guests to use during their stay at the site with us, while we also have facilities for guests to complete laundry, washing up, and dispose of chemical waste. We stock LPG for those that need to use it, while Wi-Fi access is available so you can plan your day or discover more about this beautiful area.

The nearest major town to our location is Ivybridge, but Plymouth and Torquay are both within comfortable driving distance. Our central county location means that Devon is your oyster. You can travel south to the coast where the waters are calm, relatively warm, and perfect for swimming, or you can head the short distance north into Dartmoor National Park where you will find a whole range of outdoor pursuits. Those who want to relax can enjoy walking and fishing, while the more active families who stay with us often enjoy climbing, abseiling, horse riding, and cycling. Traditional activities like orienteering are also available for those who wish to try them.

The beaches all along the South Coast are beautiful locations that look like they have been deliberately created with family days out in mind. Many of the seaside towns on the Devon coast are also busy fishing ports, meaning if you can get a front table seat in one of the beachfront restaurants you have every chance of seeing the fish you’re about to eat coming off the boat and into the restaurant, as fresh as can be.

Away from these often breathless activities, you will also find a wealth of friendly villages by simply getting in the car and heading out to explore the Devon countryside. Whether you’re looking for country pubs or a village bakery or butchers with fresh produce every day, you’re sure to find them in abundance.

California Cross Camping and Caravanning Club Site is the perfect base for exploring the famous South Coast of Devon as well as getting around the surrounding countryside and into the nearby towns.
