Walton on Thames Camping and Caravanning Club Site offers a unique experience for club members; despite being inside the M25 and only miles away from central London, it is a quiet, peaceful site that would make you think you were anywhere other than close to England’s biggest city. We are open from late March until early November, and welcome motorhomes, tents, and touring campervans onto our site. Serviced pitches with electric hook-ups are available, while a children’s play area keeps youngsters busy and entertained at the end of a long day exploring London and beyond, while there is also a games room situated close to the site.
The nearest train station is only a mile away, from which point you can be in the centre of London in a matter of minutes. You can then spend your day sightseeing, shopping, exploring the famous districts of the city, or hang around into the evening to have dinner at a great restaurant and then head to a West End show. Alternatively, you might choose to avoid the centre completely and explore the suburbs further.
Three of the United Kingdom’s most famous and popular theme parks can be reached from the site; Legoland Windsor, Thorpe Park, and Chessington World of Adventures all have their own unique features but are all brilliant attractions for all ages.
Hampton Court is a great location – famous for being where Henry VIII lived – and provides access to wonderful grounds as well as some exceptional attractions in the local area. If you want to get away from the city and busy locations, head into the Surrey Hills where you can enjoy all manner of activities. Walking is the most popular and probably the easiest to do, but Nordic walking, mountain biking, and even llama trekking are also available in the area.
As well as being situated close to Walton-on-Thames, we are also a short distance away from the pretty village of Hersham. You can walk along the River Ember to head straight into the village, where you can enjoy discounted entry to the local golf club upon presentation of your camping pass. Claremont Landscape Garden is a beautiful location and is complemented by the Royal Horticultural Society estates that are close by.
Whether you want to head into London to enjoy all that the great city has to offer, or want to get out and explore the wonderful Surrey countryside, you can do both and so much more from our well-located site.
